Top 25 Of 2004
#15-#11
Songs 15 through 11 spent varied amounts of time on the chart.  Some of them are still on it as we speak.  Four of these songs played the consistency game, charting for nine weeks or more.  One of them played the "Move out of my way, I'm taking over #1 for a while" game, and then fell off the chart quite quickly.  But all of them are quality songs.
#15: This Is Your Life-Switchfoot

Switchfoot stops in for its first showing on the Top 25.  Their latest single, This Is Your Life, debuted on the chart the week of October 6.  After a slow first few weeks, it shot up to the #3 spot.  After nine weeks, it currently sits in the #6 spot and looks like it could stay around a little while longer.  Consistency was the key for this song to make the Top 25, as it spent its first six weeks hovering between the 7, 8, and 9 spots.  This consistency, coupled with the jump to #3 after these first weeks, were more than enough to get This Is Your Life in at #15.
#14: Broken-Seether featuring Amy Lee

Amy Lee and Evanescence hit it big last year with their monster hit, "Bring Me To Life".  This time, instead of featuring someone else, Lee decided to let another group feature her, and the move payed off big for Seether.  This song from The Punisher soundtrack got major airplay throughout the year on both Rock and AC stations  It also spent a bit of time on this chart.  Debuting the week of April 14, Broken made the biggest move of the year, going to #1 in just its second week on the chart.  It would spend just six weeks on the chart, but three of those were in the top spot, which was enough to get it into the Top 25.
#13: Only One-Yellowcard

Yellowcard comes in at #13 with its first song in the Top 25.  Only One never really got the radio play it deserved, but its video got plenty of spins on MTV2.  It also spent its due time on this chart.  Debuting the week of July 14, Only One spent 11 weeks on the chart, peaking at #3.  These 11 weeks proved to be plenty for Yellowcard to hit the Top 25 with its first of two solid songs on the chart.
#12: When The Sun Goes Down-Kenny Chesney featuring Uncle Kracker

Kenny Chesney and Uncle Kracker are buds.  They went on tour together this past year, and Kenny even featured Kracker on the title track to his latest CD.  When The Sun Goes Down is just a feel good, chilling out song.  And the feel good vibe was plenty to get this song much time on the chart.  Debuting the week of March 24, When The Sun Goes Down spent 11 weeks on the chart, peaking at #2, just barely missing the top spot a few times.  It is no surprise to see this song at #12 for the year.
#11: You Had Me-Joss Stone

Joss Stone came on big this year.  After having success with a cover of The White Stripes' "Fell In Love With A Girl" (Joss "Fell In Love With A Boy", though, so no worries) last year, she released her single You Had Me, and it was hardly a disappointment.  The girl can sing, and she can write too.  You Had Me debuted on the chart the week of September 22, and has currently spent 11 weeks on the chart (it is just now reaching its end).  It also enjoyed a two week stint at #1 after many weeks at #2.  This song was solid, and given one or two more weeks, likely would've been in the Top 10.
