Problem Statement:

When the power line was installed, it was operating a single water pump with the asumption that the water could not freeze because all components are below the frost line. This proved to be an inaccurate assuption and a small electric heater was added to prevent future water outages. As stated in the previous problem statement, the combined draw on the electrical system is greater than the available supply.

Proposed Solution:

Power Distribution Control With Indicator Lamp

There are two options:
     1) Dig up the existing 12 AWG line and replace it with 10 AWG wire
     2) Provide an automated system that prevents the heater from activating while the pump is running.

Due to budgetary concerns, option 2 - design and build a system to prevent damage to the line - was chosen. To control future cost, a seperate control was built to activate and deactivate the heater.

Solution Details:

Go to Temperature Control
Go to Power Distribution Control
