Brother George Ocie Polnack was born to Bertha Caroline Dorothea (Schwarz) Polnack and George Francis Polnack on January 17, 1929. He served in the Army as a mechanic, and while overseas he prayed to the Lord and was born again into God's family. Once he returned home he met Bonnie Ruth Self, who worked with his mother at the Laundry in Sweetwater, Texas. On September 4, 1954 he married Bonnie, and bought land next to Brother Bud Self and Sister Fay Self. There he built the one and only home they would ever live in.

On September 22, 1956 the first child was born, Glen Ocie. Since Glen's grandparents lived next door he would crawl over to visit them, climbing the gate if need be, before he ever learnt to walk. He was always getting into something. When he was about 4 years old the air was leaking out of the car's tires, and George could not find out why. One day Glen said, "Come here Daddy, tires go shhhh!" He was letting the air out of the tires the whole time.

On January 13, 1959 a second child was born, this time a little girl who they named Darla Jean. When she was about sixteen months old she fell off of the porch and knocked a hole in her head. Bonnie took her to the hospital, and the doctor did not give her much hope. Darla's eyes where rolling back into her head, and the doctor had to massage her heart to get it started again. Bonnie knelt down in the hall to pray, and in a little while George came in (from work) and fell beside Bonnie in the hall, where he started praying. In a little while the doctor came out smiling, and said that Darla needed some blood. The next morning Darla acted like nothing had happened. The doctor said, "I can't hardly believe my eyes, the man upstairs was looking out for her!"

When Glen and Darla where small George and Bonnie was coming home from a camp meeting at Mount Tabor, Arkansas, when a truck decided to pass another truck on a bridge in front of them. They were doing about 70 mph. George slammed on the brakes, and prayed for the Lord to help him. He pulled over just in time. The car stopped just inches from the creek embankment.

The summer of 2002 George, Bonnie, Darla, and the grandchildren Sabrina and Glen Russell, where headed for Dripping Springs, Arkansas for camp meeting. George and Bonnie were in the pickup pulling the travel trailer, and Darla and the grandchildren were following in the car. When they got to Cross Roads just out of Denton, Texas, it was raining. The traffic light suddenly changed, and George tried to hit the brakes. The slick road and trailer caused him to slide into the intersection. Another pickup started to pull into them, and George turned the wheel away from the other pickup. The trailer fishtailed, and they slid between the traffic light and a power line pole. The road was under construction, and the side of the road had a deep drop off. If they had not went between the two poles they would have went off the drop off. The truck and trailer went several more feet, in deep mud, then jackknifed to a stop. Other than damage to the back side of the pickup (where the trailer came up against it) nothing else was damaged, and praise the Lord no one was hurt! And nothing inside the trailer was moved!

That summer George took Bonnie, Darla, Sabrina, and Glen Russell to several camp meetings including Dripping Springs, Arkansas and Mayhill, New Mexico. This was the first time Sabrina and Glen Russell had attended these camp meetings. George wanted to make sure they attended Holiness church as much as possible, and traveled almost 40 miles to the nearest church for some time.

In September, 2002 George had a Gall Bladder attack. He suffered for several days before he would let Bonnie take him to a doctor. He had an infection in his Gall Bladder. Originally the doctor thought he had a heart attack, but George kept telling him, "My stomach hurts, not my chest!" George had to repeat that many times, as the nurses worried so about him. They gave him antibiotics, and he said that when they gave them to him the pain would ease up. The doctors could not understand how it would ease the pain, but the family knew it was the hand of the Lord.

On October 21, 2002 George had to have a tumor and kidney removed. Originally the doctors thought he had Leukemia because his blood count (platelets) was so high. The family prayed that the Lord would heal him if he had Leukemia. After many tests the doctors found the tumor on his kidney. Surgery was scheduled, and Glen Ocie came with his three girls (Kayelyn, Kristen, and Joanna) to be with George. The whole family (Bonnie, Darla, Sabrina, Glen Russell, Glen Ocie, Kayelyn, Kristen, and Joanna) stayed with George as much as possible while he was in the hospital. The doctors had took a lot of blood weeks before from George, in case he bled as much as they assumed he would. After surgery the doctor called into the waiting room and told Bonnie, "He lost a thimble full of blood." Praise the Lord! The doctors said he would stay in the hospital a least two weeks, but five days later he was released. The doctor said, "George you look better now than you did before surgery!" Glory! He still has his strength, only Bonnie tells him to take it easy. When the test results came back the tumor was not cancer.

On January 3, 2002 George and Bonnie traveled to Eunice, New Mexico to be with Darla's family while Darla and Sabrina went to the Junior College. They live in their travel trailer, which Bonnie says is easier to take care of. The family all attend the Trinity Holiness Church in Eunice.
