Pinching at the Blueline

Here the defensewoman has a good chance of getting the puck, or keeping it in the offensive zone.
The other players on our team see this and respond by moving to their appropriate positions.
The defensewoman fights for control of the puck, or at least tries to keep it in the offensive zone.
Notes:
  • The defensewoman that pulls back to centre ice will pick up the puck if it happens to come out of the offensive zone.  As well, she will prevent a breakaway by playing in the proper position.
  • Whichever forward is closest to the blue line defensive position in the middle of the ice shall occupy that spot (here it was the centre)
  • The 2 other forwards will surround the puck (without getting too close), so when it pops out of the battle they can pick it up and continue our offensive plays.
  • Once the puck is kept in the offensive zone, everyone can move back into the zone and continue trying to score.
