Tram has 3 routines 電車系統擁有三條路線：
(a) Mangyongdae 萬景臺 to Pyongyang Station 平壤火車站
(b) Rakrang 兩江 to West Pyongyang 西平壤
(c) Munsu 紋繡 to Thosong 土城
Pyongyang's
modern tramway was built by the Korean People’s Army using man labour in
1990-1991. 輕便鐵路系統由朝鮮人民軍在1990-1991年間，以人手建造而成。It
has 3 lines,它有三條路線：
1st line(20km), opened in 1991, from Songsan to Songsin
2nd line (10km), opened in 1992, from Munsu and Thosong
第二條10km路線在1992年開放，從紋繡車站到土城車站。
3rdst line(20km), opened in 1996, serves the area in Taesong district around Kim Il Sung Integrated University, and runs from Samhung Metro station to Kumsusan Memorial Palace, with both of its twin tracks runninng along the north side of Pipa Street. 第三條路線在1996年開放，為大城區及金日成綜合大學服務，從三興地鐵站至錦繡山紀念宮車站，沿著琵琶大街的北段雙線行駛。
電車的機車主要由捷克、中華人民共和國及瑞士製造。除了平壤市外，北朝鮮的咸鏡北道之清津市亦擁有一個 21km 之現代化電車系統，採用中國製造的機車。
Pyongyang tram system uses Chinese, Czechoslovak and Swiss locomotives. Apart from Pyangyang, Chongjin, North Hamgyong Do also has a 21km modern tram system, it uses Chinese locomotive.

Pyongyang’s trolleybus service is opened on 30th April, 1962. using Chinese, Korean and Hungarian Trolleybuses. 平壤市的無軌電車服務於1962年4月30日開始，採用中國、朝鮮及匈牙利的機機車。
Trolley Bus system has 4 routines 電車系統擁有四條路線：
(a) Pyongyang Station 平壤火車站 to Ryongsong 龍城
(b) Pyongyang Station 平壤火車站 to West Pyongyang 西平壤
(c) Munsu 紋繡 to Pyongyang Number 2 Department Store 平壤第二百貨商店
(d) Hwanggumbol 黃金平原 to Arch of Triumph 凱旋門
