Regnaud Enrico [1692-1764] We do not know enough about this artist. He was born in Malta around 1692. There is a lot of confusion regarding his name and we find him listed as Arrigo, Errico, Arnaud, Arnau, Arnaux, and even Reno! He was an indifferent painter but there is a superficial sweetness in his work that made him popular. There are many works which were previously attributed to other artists that we now know are his. He was very prolific and besides the canvases found in Churches there are many others in private collections. He continued the decoration of the Victory Chapel in Valletta, which was started by Alessio Erardi. In 1730, he married Grazulla Azzupardi, a very rich woman from Haz-Zebbug and in1754 he was listed as living in the parish limits of Porto Salvo in Valletta. Works: Malta: Attard. Balzan. Burmarrad.
