Abela Giovanni Maria  [active end of 16 century]

We know very little about this painter.  He was Maltese and lived in the XVI century.  A realist of his age but rather provincial in his works.  His competence was limited, having executed a series of altarpieces, depicting, The Madonna of the Rosary.  He was familiar with outside influences because the large canvas at Imdina Cathedral resembles closely the panel found in Ischia.
