CONSTRUCTING A WINDOW CATHEDRAL

saladstrawberry cakewalnut cakepie

Having a 'dessert' problem? You do not have to scour bake shops and spend much. You can create your own. Preparing a dessert should not be so hard. The key is to choose one that is nutritious and takes less effort, time and budget to prepare. Your dessert should also be one that can be enjoyed by everyone in the family.

Here is one dessert recipe that is not only easy to prepare but also light on the pocket. The window cathedral, with its colorful jelly and fruit bits, will surely tickle your family's palate. It is not only delectable but also a good source of vitamin A and C, and calcium.

Make sure you have all the ingredients! To make a window cathedral, here are the ingredients you need:

  • 2 packs of unflavored gelatin (preferably Knox)
  • 1 pack of jelly ace, sliced into four
  • 1 cup of ripe mango, sliced into strips or diced
  • 1 cup of canned peaches, sliced into strips or diced
  • 250 g. Nestle Cream
  • 250 g. condensed milk
  • Be an instant chef! Here are the easy-to-follow steps in making a window cathedral:

    1. Melt 2 packs of unflavored gelatin in 6 cups of hot (not boiling) water. Stir well until lumps disappear. Set aside in a bowl.

    2. Mix cream and milk in a separate bowl. (Shake cans well before opening). Stir well until lumps disappear. Add in jelly ace, peaches and mango and mix well. Pour in melted gelatin and mix well.

    3. Set in a 2 inch mold or glass pan and refrigerate until mixture hardens. Serve chilled.

Clown: Be happy about your cooking! Now that was proof of easy-to-make and great-on-the budget dessert. Your window cathedral, which looks like the colorful mosaic windows of a cathedral, will serve 5-6 people. To try more of our recipes, not only desserts, write to us at:
