Rank System of Tanelorn

The Guardians of Tanelorn believe that structure causes things to run smoothly. The imformation below concerns the rank system currently used in Tanelorn. This is vital imformation for all guild members. Read and enjoy!

What are the ranks? What rights and duties does each rank hold?

The order from the lowest to highest:

Trial Guardian: Trial Guardians are people who were just invited to be a member of the Guardians of Tanelorn. Maybe they were inhabitants of Tanelorn who always dreamed about joining this guild, or maybe they were people who joined because they believe in the spirit of the guild. Trial Guardians are asked to learn everything about the guild to become true members, since we are testing them.

Retired: Unfortunately, brave guardians must retire for a while from time to time. If you feel like you will not be able to do what is expected from you because you are low on time, ask for a retirement. Retired members do not need to answer rollcalls, pay the guild fees, ect. They have no duties (besides keeping their character safe and following our rules), but they will also receive no advantages.

Corrupted Old Gnome: When one becomes the leader of the Guardians of this kingdom he recieves a special artifact: The Rod of Gnome Transformation. Pointing it towards someone will turn that person into a small, ugly creature (see picture in the Guild Structure section). This rank is used to punish members who do not follow the rules. Gnomes have no rights.

Peasant: This rank is for second characters of our members. Once members have reached the Guardian rank they may have another character invited into GoT as a peasant.

Initiated: After being approved in the Trial period, the member is promoted to Initiated. He or she already knows the basics about our kingdom and should prepare to face his first question test to become a guardian!

Guardian: Reaching the guardian rank is an honor in our kingdom. This is a position of much respect. Now the member is a true guardian of Tanelorn! Members ranked as Guardian gain permission to rent a room at Moonkeep.

High Guardian: A High Guardian is someone who dedicates his or her life to the Kingdom of Tanelorn. This position is only given to someone who is fully trusted and respected. High Guardians may ask for a title, and from now on they will be a part of the Council of Tanelorn (their vote counts in special guild decisions).

Hero: Heroes are exactly what the name says. Many people know their name because they did an act that was of utmost importance to the kingdom. Heroes may personalize one of their items as a Tanelorn Treasure.

Legend: Some names will never be forgotten in this land; members who are old enough and have played a key part to the existence of the guild will be given this rank of great respect. Legends may personalize another of their items as a Tanelorn Treasure.

Royal Guard: The Royal Guard represents truth, justice and bravery. Royal Guards are model members. They help the leader to lead the guild, and make special decisions by themselves. Becoming a Royal Guard is a very difficult task, but is not impossible. Royal Guards are rule enforcers.

Leader: With the Royal Guards help, the leader takes charge of the guild and its path, taking into consideration the opinions of all members, of course! Being the top rank also brings a lot of responsibilities, since the leader must watch over his Guardians, and of course, being in such a high rank, eyes will always be watching the leader!

How do you advance up the ranks?
There are some requirements to go up in ranks in the Guardians of Tanelorn. The key words are time, rules and work. To go up from rank to rank you will need a certain amount of time, you also need to follow all the guild rules and work for the guild.
A good way of thinking is "What can I do for the guild?", instead of "What can the guild do for me?".

Promotion ceremonies
Yes, we have a special event to celebrate the promotion of our members. Promotions are decided by the leader and Royal Guards on Saturday night. These are then announced at Moonkeep.
Every Saturday, 17 hours after the server save, there will be a promotion ceremony at our guild hall. For the promotions to Guardian and higher, you must attend this meeting!! If you cannot attend, post at the Promotion Ceremony Thread on the Tibia.com forum and we shall solve your problem.

Tests and quests?!
For promotions to ranks Guardian and above, there will be special quests that the member must complete. Quests can be collecting items and/or information. There are also in-game quests, where other guild members roleplay as NPCs and the member must solve the quest in real time action.
Tests are a group of 3 questions of each subject. Subjects include Guild Structure, Tanelorn History, Tibia Genesis, and General Tibia.

Where can I find information about the tests' subjects?
Tibia Genesis - Official Tibia website, and also on our guild's website!
Tanelorn History- GoT Website
Guild Structure- GoT Website
General Tibia- Play the game, supported fansites, official website.

What are the requirements to reach each rank?
Trial Guardian: People that are not in the guild must be approved through our recruitment system. You can read more at the "Council of Tanelorn, votation on new recruits" thread.

Retired: Ask for it.

Corrupted Old Gnome: Break the rules. Not paying the Guild Fee.

Initiated: After one week as a Trial Guardian, if you followed the rules, you may be promoted to Initiated.

Guardian: After two weeks as an Initiated member, if you followed the rules, you may be promoted to Guardian. Though, you will need to take a question test (explained above), and answer correctly at least 6 questions out of 12.

High Guardian: You need to be a Guardian for one month (30 days), and give at least 7 right answers out of 12 questions on your question test. You will also need to complete a special quest. To be allowed to apply to be promoted to this rank, you need to show your work to the guild (create some in-game event, forum event, anything that you create by yourself and helps out and gives fun to the guild).

Hero: After two months as a High Guardian you may be promoted to Hero. You will need to take a question test (at least 8/12) and go on a quest. Only members who show that they are important to the guild will be allowed to apply to this rank, so work very hard.

Legend: After three months as a Hero, and only three months. A Question test and quest are needed. As the name says, only true legends may apply.

Royal Guard:The only system requirement is being a member ranked as Legend. The decision of promoting a Legend to a Royal Guard will be made by the Leader and the Royal Guards.
Only a member who follows all the guild rules, shows a lot of respect and responsibility, and also has initiative and leadership to organize events, quests (ect.) will be promoted to Royal Guard. It is difficult to become one, but it is not impossible.

Royal Guard, rank degrade
The guild Leader can degrade a Royal Guard to a lower rank that better suits his actions at his own will. Guild members can suggest this action to the guild leader if they feel some Royal Guard is not working as expected, but the final decision is up to the guild Leader.
Since Royal Guards are expected to show model behavior, there will be extreme punishments if a Royal Guard is doing otherwise. Those things include, but are not limited to: abusing the position of Royal Guard, creating troubles to the guild as a Royal Guard, and breaking the guild rules.

Leader: The top rank may only be granted to very trustworthy members who have showed an exceeding ability to lead. Any member can be chosen to be the Leader, and only the very wise may decide who will be one. There are different ways in which the new leader could be chosen:

Current leader wants to pass the leadership:
The leader needs to be active, and must be willing to lead the guild! For personal reasons sometimes the leader thinks he or she is not able to lead the guild and would like to pass the leadership to someone else. In that case he or she can pass the leadership to anyone they want.

Current leader is doing poorly:
Suppose the guild Leader is not doing a decent job. In this case, guild members shall report their complaints to Royal Guards, and the Royal Guards will decide together whether the current Leader stays or not. If not, a new leader will be chosen by the Royal Guards.

All hail Banor, for he is our God.
