This ''gadget'' is so powerful that, if completed succesfully, it will end WWII! Dewey is a girl who is interested in building, mechanics, and engineering. It makes it difficult for her to get along with the other girls at Los Alamos. Dewey struggles to put up with the other girls' teasings, while her dad works long hours at the laboratory. Little does Dewey know that this ''gadget'' will completely change her life!
I really enjoyed this book. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. The characters and places in this historical fiction novel make these events come to life. The more you read, the more you feel a special connection with Dewey. Even though this isn't a fast-paced, action-adventure novel, you just can't put it down. This is definitely a must read!
