Our friends who live in Oregon invited my family on a vacation to Venice, Florida, for the last week in March! The temperature was about 85 degrees Fahrenheit every day plus it never rained while we were awake. The beaches weren't crowded and the swimming pool at the house got really warm. While we were there, we went to Adventure Island Water Park for a day and to a spring training baseball game. The game was between the Cincinatti Reds and the Pittsburg Pirates. I had been hoping the Pirates would win, but the Reds beat them 6-3. During the game, the Reds' players got two home runs in a row! That surprised everyone. Our vacation was very relaxing. I couldn't have enjoyed it more! I had so much fun playing with Ryan and Gabrielle at the beach and at the pool. I'm so glad that our family was invited this year.

Before our vacation, Gabrielle and I were taking ice skating lessons at a nearby ice rink. Our lessons were at an outdoor rink, and some of the lessons were really cold! I have just started working on some basic jumps and footwork. The lessons have been a lot of fun. We have a few more lessons through the month of April.

My Boy Scout Troop held our Court of Honor at which I was given the role of Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. This is the second-ranked junior leader. I now have to do my absolute best to attend every meeting and camping trip because if the Senior Patrol Leader ever needs help, I need to be ready to help him. I also need to attend monthly meetings to help plan upcoming activities for our troop. It is a big responsibility, but it's going to be lots of fun!

Make sure to check out the photos of our Florida trip and Iceskating on the
Photo Page.

Gabrielle's Grab Bag
Gabrielle loved taking Ice Skating lessons this winter. She had a chance to take part in an Ice Skating competition before we went to Florida. She had to perform some basic skills for the judges and then do a short routine to music. She tied for a Silver medal in the skills part of the competition and won a bronze for her routine. Mostly, she just had a lot of fun skating. You can see pictures on the Photo page.

     Gabrielle has started reading the
Magic Tree House books and she loves them! She is reading them all in order and is on number 12 now. The other series that she really likes are the My Secret Unicorn books. She has read the first four already.

Gabrielle loved our vacation in Florida. She loves to play on the beach. She also really improved her swimming. She finally started swimming with her head underwater! We were all very proud of her.
Gabrielle has started her own Photo Journal. She would like everyone to see her first entry. You can view it by clicking here:
