Music has always been a big part of my life. There are many songs that describe me and I could probably tell a big part of my life story with song lyrics. There are some songs that I like just for the words and other that I like for the music. I listen to a variety of music, but I have my preferences.

Incubus is my favorite band and I have four of their cd's. I wouldn't be able to choose a favorite because they are each very unique, but all are good. I discovered them via their video for "Stellar" and was immediately hooked. My senior quote is actually an Incubus lyric. Okay, so maybe I'm a little obsessed, but they're a very good band so it's okay, right? Some of my favorite Incubus songs include: "You Will Be a Hot Dancer," "A Certain Shade of Green," "Anti-Gravity Love Song," "When It Comes," and "Just a Phase." Of course, I like every Incubus song because they're all very good. I have my own homepage for Incubus too, which is pretty cool.

The best band ever is definetly Aerosmith. They've been making music since before I was born. I only have one of their cd's and my dad has four or five of them and they're really good. They have so many cd's that I don't think I could ever own all of them. Some of my favorite Aerosmith songs are: "Dream On," "Janie's Got a Gun," "Don't Want to Miss a Thing," "Pink," "Beyond Beautiful," and "Outta Your Head." I can't think of an Aerosmith song I don't like.

Linkin Park is another really good band. Their first cd is really short, but every song on it is good. Their sound is very unique and I think that is why they are so popular. My favorite songs are: "Runaway," "In the End," "A Cure for the Itch," and "Pushing Me Away." I hope their next cd is as good as the first one is. I'm sure they could get to be as big as Incubus is.

Another really good band is Puddle of Mudd. Their cd is awesome, but Danielle was mad that I have it because they curse. They don't curse in every song; there are a few that are okay. My favorite Puddle of Mudd songs are: "Blurry," "Drift and Die," and "She Hates Me," which Vinny and I agree is like one of the greatest songs ever and it's kinda funny. I actually got him the cd because it's really good.

Sum41 is an interesting band. I have one of their cd's and it's good. My favorite songs by them are "In Too Deep" and "Motivation." Their cd is also pretty short and has some really short songs on it, but it has a lot of energy in it so it makes it seem like it's more than it really is. I see them as a bunch of kids who never grew up and just like to have fun. Their videos are really funny too.

Bon Jovi is another band that has been around since I was a really small person. They are just as good today as they were in the 80's. I have their live cd which has all their good songs on it, not that they have any bad songs. Some of my favorite Bon Jovi songs are:"Livin on a Prayer," "Runaway," and "One Wild Night." One of the greatest things about them is that they are from New Jersey. Who says nothing good come out of New Jersey.

Staind is an absolutely amazing band and anyone who doesn't own their cd, Break the Cycle, needs to go out and buy it right now. I find their cd to be very relaxing and have fallen asleep to it many times. It's also very good for getting rid of headaches, especially migraines. Some of my favorite Staind songs are: "Fade," "Epiphany," and "For You," but all the songs on the cd are really good. I hope they continue to make cd's as good as this one.

Stone Temple Pilots is a strange little band, but I really like their music. I can't quite figure out what to make of these guys yet. I have only one of their cd's and it's up there with my favorites. My favorite STP songs are: "Sour Girl," "Wonderful," and every song on their cd, Shrangri-La-De-Da. I don't know where they got the name for the cd from, but they made it up somehow. They probably thought of it one day while they were high or something.

The Foo Fighters is another really good band and I like all of their songs. I don't have any of their cd's, but I'm sure I'll get one eventually. My favorite song is "Everlong" because the words are really good. The music doesn't really go with the love song that it is, but they managed to get it to work. The song also sounds really good acoustic. My second favorite songe by them is "My Hero" because I really like the music in it. I hope they release a new cd soon and maybe I'll get that one.

I just got the Alien Ant Farm cd and it's really good. They did a good job on their cover for "Smooth Criminal." I also like their other two singles, "The Movies" and "Attitude." They are another band that likes to fool around and have fun, but they also have a serious side. I really like their videos too especially the one for "Smooth Criminal."

Red Hot Chili Peppers is another good band. They have made some really good videos also. I don't have any of thier cd's, but I really like their music. My favorite Red Hot Chili Pepper songs are "Californication" and "By the Way." The video for "Californication" is very original too. I think their new cd is going to be really good.

Korn is another band that is releasing a new cd soon. They have some really good songs. I don't have any of their cd's either, but my favorite songs by them are "Make Me Bad" and "Here to Stay." They really are here to stay. I don't think they plan on going anywhere anytime soon.

Lost Prophets is a good band. There are only a few people who have heard of their song "Shinobi Vs. Dragon Ninja." This is one of my absolute favorite songs, but I think I'm one of only a handful of people who have heard it. I don't own their cd and this actually is the only song of theirs that I know. I wonder if the rest of their music is this good.

Two of my favorite bands are actually Christian rock bands. PFR and Jars of Clay are two totally awesome bands. My dad owns all the cd's for both bands and burned copies of them for me. Between the two bands PFR is my favorite. They aren't together anymore though. They broke up when their drummer, Mark Nash, got married to the lead singer of Sixpence None the Richer. I like so many of their songs that I don't have room to list them all, but my favorite PFR cd is Them which was their last cd. It is also the hardest of all of them. I think it would be cool if they got back together, but I know that isn't going to happen.

Jars of Clay is the only band I know of who has gotten a Christian song on mainstream radio. "Flood" was the big single off of their first cd. I personally like their second cd, Much Afraid, the best. My favorite songs on that cd are "Fade to Grey" and "Frail." They just released their fourth cd and they should stay around for a while.
