Communication Ideas and Information Summation Paper
H.L.O stands for Hoover Learner Outcome and
for one of these descriptors I'll be talking about is the Communication
Ideas and Information. Communication Ideas and Information helps students
to be prepared and work with on their writing and communication skills.
The three projects I will be discussing in this summation paper which
satisfy Lifelong Learning are the Wrestling Sturbridge Book Review,
"What Makes People Happy?" Time Write, and the Surface Area and
Volume project.
The first project I will be talking about is the Wrestling Sturbridge Book
Review in which I completed in 12th grade. The steps I took to complete
this project was by the reading the story first and then after finishing
the story I wrote an online book review. This project satisfies the HLO
because it uses Standard English in a variety of writing types using
verbal communication. It also evaluates, corrects, and reverses written,
verbal, and other forms of communication.
My second project that I will be talking about that satisfies the Hoover
Learner Outcome Life-Long learning is the "What makes people
happy?" Time Write. I completed this project in 12th grade. For this
project I was given what I was going to write for the time write by my
teacher. This project satisfies the HLO because it uses Standard English
in a variety of writing types and in verbal communication. . It also
evaluates, corrects, and reverses written, verbal, and other forms of
communication.
The last project that I would talk about that satisfies the HLO Lifelong
Learning is the Surface Area and Volume Project in which I completed in
the 11th grade. This project satisfies the HLO because it uses the
language of mathematics to communicate ideas and concepts to explain the
reasoning and results. It also satisfies the HLO because it teaches new
skills and ideas to others while giving and receiving constructive
feedback.
The Communication and Ideas HLO is important to me because it teaches me
to express my feelings in writing and it helps me by learning how to
communicate with people. By focusing on this Hoover Learner Outcome at
Hoover High School I have learned to become more social and work a lot
more with the students. It also helps with me with my writing.
