EPILOGUE

Analise looked out into the forest. Every day, at sunset, she had gone to see if she would see Sim returning. Today, for the first time, she carried their baby in her arms. A baby who, she now knew, would never see his father. She went more to pay respects than out of hope of seeing him. She did not know if the journey had killed him, or if the city had claimed him. But to her, he was dead. She looked down at their child. Well, not quite dead...........
