CHAPTER 10

Analise woke up and decided she was hungry. She went in search of food.

When she got to the pantry, she was surprised to find her mother already there.

"Well, Analise, what are you doing up at this time of the night?"

"I was hungry. I couldn't sleep. What are you doing up?"

"Same reason as you." Celeste took some bread and cheese out of the pantry and sat at the rough wooden table. "Would you like to share?"

Analise shrugged and sat down next to her mother. "Sure."

"So, what do you think of Sim?"

"Sim? I think he's great. He's........changed, a lot. He hardly seems like the same man. He seems so much more alive. Like part of him had been sleeping when I met him. It's amazing. Even his eyes are different. It seems like I can't remember life before he got here."

"I see he has moved his things into your room. Do you have any idea how long things will stay that way?"

"A long time, I hope."
