About Hammies

Hamsters belong to the rodent family having large continually growing incisor teeth. Gnawing is needed to prevent the teeth from overgrowing.

Hamsters form the Family Cricetidae. There are many different species or types of hamsters throughout the world ranging from different colours to different size and even different fur length.

Hamsters are nocturnal, sleeping during the days and waking in the evenings.

They have very poor eyesight but a keen sense of smell and excellent hearing.

Most species of hamsters are hoarders; they will carry food and bedding back to their burrow in their expandable cheek pouches.
