DragonBallZ Movie 14) Genre: Action Time Length: Approx. 1 hour Other Series: DragonBall Movie 1, 2, 3 Similar Series: Flame of Recca Rating: Everyone (Only one scene with "older" content) Distributor: Unlicensed Reviewed By: Reijin Synopsis: Basically, this movie is just a re-telling of the begining of DragonBall all the to the end of the Red Ribbon saga. Some events are left out and/or switched around, so the timeline isn't the same. But that's a good thing, having events different from the televsion timeline makes the story a little more interesting. Review: Event though I knew what was going to happen and how it was going to happen. I still liked this movie. It portrayed a little better plot than the television series did. Mixing around the events was another good idea Toei came up with (they don't have too many). It gave an interesting twist to the story, as well as made you wonder what was coming next. Plot: Well, as you probably already know, DragonBall isn't quite the best of plots that I've seen. So the story line is rather thin again for the re-telling of it. The movie does do a good job of spicing up the plot a little. There seems to be a little more emotion to it. Maybe because things happened in a shorter amount of time. Things lose emotion once they dedicate three episodes to it. Character Designs: Chracter designs are similar and/or exaclty like their DragonBall counter parts. Basically, Bulma is Bulma, Goku is Goku, Yamucha is Yamucha, Oolong is Oolong. Not much to say here... Music: Same music as DragonBall, doesn't stand out in either a good way or bad. It doesn't add emotion to the story what-so-ever, but at least it doesn't ruin what little emotion the movie has. Artwork: The artwork looks a little tuned up for the movie. Nothing too notable though. You basically have your old artwork that went through all three DragonBall series. Not very good at all. Plot: B- Character Designs: B- Music: C+ Artwork: C+ Overall: C+ |
