Reviewed By: Reijin Synopsis: This is the only DragonBall series that was not done by Akira Toriyama. Akira Toriyama got tired with the series after DragonBallZ. It's a damn shame too. DragonBallGT is done by a group of people who were fans of Akira Toriyama. The series still follows Goku, he is now 50-something, and training with Uubu. While Goku and Uubu are having their first serious battle, who decides to come back but Pilaf!! Pilaf discovers the Black Star DragonBalls. Which were created by Kami before he split into his two halves. Goku finds them and Pilaf starts to dream back to DragonBall when Goku was a child and accidentally wishes Goku to be a little child again. Goku doesn't mind too much, but there is a fatal side effect to the Black Star DragonBalls. If they are not re-united and used for another wish in a year, the planet they were used on last will explode. Unlike the regular DragonBalls, these ones are scattered throughout the universe!! You can just image what events this will lead to. Review: A lot of people hate this series because it does not start in an explosion of fighting. The first 10 some episodes contain hardly any fighting at all. This is where DragonBallGT loses a big amount of its audiences. I'm sure there are still many people arguing about DragonBallGT. It wasn't until the Bebi saga that the action didn't truly start. After the Bebi saga, DBGT picks up where DBZ left off. Fast pace action, flurries of punches and kicks. Power ups and the whole nine yards. Plot: I think that this plot was the best of all the DragonBall series. For once not all the enemies wanted to take over the world for an unknown reason. You're probably saying that they actually want to but when the Evil Shenlong series comes around, the Evil Shenlongs only goes crazy because of all the evil wishes they had to grant. Besides that, the same evil villain taking over the world routine. Character Designs: Everyone actually gets an outfit change!! That's probably the biggest thing in the whole series character design wise. All of the lovable characters are back. Trunks becomes the president of Capsule Corp. Goten becomes girl crazy. Pan is just a nag. Vegeta kinda looks like Nappa with his moustache in the beginning of DBGT. If he was bald and more bulkier he could be Nappa, just admit it. Music: I think the Dan Dan theme song is the best of all the DragonBall series theme songs. probably no one will agree with me though. All of the music is changed with everything else. Artwork: Same as all the other DB series out there. nothings changed artwork wise for GT. Plot: B Character Designs: B+ Music: B+ Artwork: B Overall: B+ |
