Ok so here was the story....
I'm asleep in bed at 3am in the morning. I must have been in that semi-conscious dreamy state as I heard this smash as clear as day and managed to jump back in my bed in reflex! Yes, indeed my large ground floor window had been the smash. Hearing voices in the corridor I awaited til i heard a familar voice, threw the door open and cried, "What the heck was that??" to Anthony, one of the guys on our corridor. Were we getting burguled, mass vandalised or what?! Having been assured it was only my window we went back into my room and turning on the light immediately found the damage and a swift chill of breeze coming under the curtains from the huge hole in the window! Still somewhat shaken I discover that it was a very apologetic other corridor mate who had just thrown a ball at the window, not expecting it to give way! Feeling rather insecure, from having only 50% glass in my window, I stayed up the rest of the night.
Thanks to those on my corridor who helped me with blankets and stuff. Much appreciated.
