On Sunday Westwood held a student led service in the evening. Gareth and Jenny led the night and Adair brought a message from the story of Samson.
Me and Matt got to lead the worship sections of the service with a little help from Spenny, Aaron and Rebekah. Was a great service and a testament to the student work at the church.
After Committee meeting on wednesday Nath, Ben and I set off to Leamington to join VickiJ and friends to celebrate Vix's birthday. We enjoyed cocktails in the Ocean Bar and then queued for a student club night called Delicatesum. The queuing took its toll on some of us though and we departed at the one in one out stage but Vicki made it in and enjoyed her night.
Friday was a long day by the end of which my fingers hurt a lot. Majority of the day were spent rehearsing for Soulfood, the CU's arts festival. In the middle of rehearsing we took a trip to the centre of campus to perform some songs in the piazza. The prayer and praise band played some worship songs, a band called Paradigm Shift from Nexus Academy of Music did some brilliant cover songs and me and matt sang some Third Day songs. Was a great event out in the glorious sunshine and 200 gospels were given out to students that came to listen. |
