You and your fellow reporters have just created a newspaper on
the First Amendment and censorship. Together you examined and researched the issues presented. Then using that new information
you developed your own opinions on the issues and wrote persuasive articles arguing either for or against the issue. At the end of the project you then had to verbally argue and support what you wrote in a town meeting / classroom debate.
YOUR HARD WORK IS APPRECIATED!!!

Now that you have completed your first assignment as a reporter...

Have your perspectives changed from the beginning of the assignment?

Have you completed the final online survey yet?
And Always Remember:

Other issues regarding the First Amendment appear everyday in the news:

What can be shown on television and what cannot be shown?

Are there certain movies or video games you would like to see, but cannot because of their ratings?

Look at our freedoms compared to the rest of the world:

Do all countries have these freedoms or something like the
First Amendment?

The intention of this assignment is to make you aware of your instincts and curiosity, follow that drive to answer these questions and any others for yourself.
Knowing and exercising your rights is one
of the most patriotic things you can do!
