1. Annual report of Project "5 loaves and 2 fish" including financial report - May 2001

Project "5 loaves and 2 fish" is we pray connecting the church with plenty to the church in need. The vision is similar to that in 2 Cor. 8:13-15 where Paul is writing to the church in Corinth regarding relief and support for the church in Jerusalem. In this particular passage Paul writes "--I am not trying to put a burden on you, but since you have plenty at this time, it is only fair you should help those in need. Then when you are in need and they have plenty they will help you. In this way both are treated equally as the scripture says, "the one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little." Ex. 16:17-18.

Churches partnering with this project are:

Guatemala:

1. Evangelical Church of Central America "Alfa y Omega" Santiago, Atitlan.
2. Evangelical Church of Central America "Nazareth", San Antonio, Palopo.

Evangelical Church of Central America "Alfa y Omega" Santiago, Atitlan

This church has not reported the last funds received so the project could be clarified. The elders at this church are changed every year and the new group of elders were not informed, however the distribution of the funds sent in Aug. 1999. was done. The project will continue DV.

The $250 U.S. receved has now been reported distributed to 30 widows.

Evangelical Church of Central America "Nazareth", San Antonio, Palopo

This church still has funds in its account. They had been mostly helping the poor and a great deal of help had been coming into the village through the Roman Catholic Church so they felt no need to continue at this time.

Report of Paul Cross (Central American Missionary) for Honduran churches

This work received $400 U.S. Delivery of chicken manure to be used as fertilizer as the soil is very poor. The fertilizer helped produce corn, however the drought made it necessary to continue to supply basic necessities as corn and beans. A letter of appreciation and request for continued support in their time of need, has been received.

Montaa de la Flor, Honduras

Tolpan Indians. Since hurricane Mitch they suffered the worse starvation in 100 years so one of the chiefs say Paul has been delivering 100lb. sack of corn and beans to help relieve the situation. A world nutrition program of the UN had little success in reaching the needy. Most of the loss of crop was from the animals eating the crops - some domestic but mostly parrots, possums, and wild pigs. Presently much help is going in including the government being involved in housing construction and a Christian irrigation project.

Independent Baptist church, Valley of Peace Belize

This project has been terminated due to conflict within the leadership. When we visited this church on Sunday morning there was no one at the building. We met one of the men and expressed our sadness over the ssituation. We need to pray that God's will be done and man to get out of the way.

Evangelical Church of Central America "Iglesia Jordan" -- report El Salvador

Project was a partnership with the local church in San Salvadaor which cost approximately $1000 U.S. Lord willing we will continue to help with basic necessities like corn, beans, carrots, oranges, and powdered milk.

$150 U.S. has been left with the church to help with these necessities.

Construction of small houses and outhouse "letrine" for 16 families displaced by the earthquake on the 13 of Jan. 2001. These families made of women and children all continue to be helped by this church, DV.

Bretheren Assemblies Project "More of God"

Since hurricane Mitch a number of the brothers gathered together to form this association. The vision is to develop social projects of interest and support to the brothers. They are supported by a number of assemblies throughout the country. There is damage to approximately 75 dwellings of brothers in the country. Presently this ministry has initiated the support in the construction of 6 dwellings as well as provisions such as water, clothes, and powdered milk for the children.

As a result of the 2 earthquakes about 25% of the population of El Salvador has been the victim of some damage. Adobe construction has all but been destroyed in the cities and villages near the epicentre of the quakes.
DV, we will provide basic necessities to people being administered to through "More of God."

This photograph is typical of the scnee in many of the villages in El Salvador.

Answers to prayer - I was greatly encouraged by the accompaniament of brother in Christ, Don Kitsch.l I also felt a sense that the project was fullfilling a need and that many were blessed and the good Lord was being glorified as a result. There also appears to be a team coming togethere with a similar vision.
Pray - that if it be God's will this project continue, that a team (ie. brothers in Christ) will be brought together. Also pray for wisdom and discernment and more faith as we seek to serve the Lord through partnering with our needy brothers and sisters in Christ.
