Raveley Drain

Pudock use to be one of our favorite venues properly because of an abundance of pike it has also produced all of our  personal bests 11lb,14lb 8oz and 18lb. A small narrow back water drain off the Forty Foot drain with only about 3/4 of a mile actual fishable with the exception of the bowl near the pumping station it is a quite shallow water about 2 to 3 feet deep around 8 at the bowl end. Although the depth can vary depending on how much water is draining of the fens as can the colures of the water at most times of the year.  A typical fen drain open and desolate with very steep banks although a few swims have been hack out over a period of time parking is easy due a wide grass verge between the drain and the single track road.  The water is not owned or run by any Angling club unfortunately an accident at the pumping station resulted in the drain being pumped dry and a large fish kill which will properly take some year  to recover.
