| Artist Bio | Greetings! My name is Margret Chang, and I am a musician and research fellow at the Centers for Disease Control who will be entering medical school in Fall 2006. Please allow me to welcome you to Finding Root--a series of benefit concerts and talks across metro Atlanta promoting cross-disciplinary approaches to health disparities. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Finding Root serves both as a fundraiser for me to participate in an environmental policy and public health program in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a way to contribute to Projeto Quixote--an innovative Brazilian organization channeling the efforts of clinicians, educators, researchers, and artists to help disadvantaged children. This website provides information on concerts and contains various writings related to health disparities and my own artistic vision. | As cellist Yo Yo Ma once said, "by listening to and learning from the voices of an authentic musical tradition, we become increasingly able to advocate for the worlds they represent." Such words are the framework behind the music and writing of Finding Root. Beginning with the favelas of Brazil, I hope this musical journey through many cultures and coutnries will inspire future health advocacy efforts for communities most in need. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
