Training is progressing well, and things are humming along at the Gap. The cadets have become more confident and have learned many new things. You can expect that your son or daughter will come home a more organized, better disciplined young person - at least for a while! Graduation will be held at 1000 on 11 July in the large space near building 12-12 where check-in was conducted. No bleachers are available, so parents should plan to bring lawn chairs if they wish to be seated. Toilet facilites are limited to Port-a-Potties located in the nearby park, so it is also advised that a rest stop be made before you arrive for graduation. A check-out procedure will be in place, so please be patient for departure. All cadets will be released to a responsible adult who will have to sign for them. Cadets will have to sign for their seabags. Service records will only be released to unit COs, training command officers, or those who have written letters from the unit Commanding Officer. We hope to make this process as quick and easy as possible, which will only happen with the cooperation of all. Please note that all staff will be expected to remain after graduation until everything is packed and the buildings are turned in. Please be aware that parents, COs, and others are not to come to the recruit training area. We will be very busy trying to get everything organized for the graduation itself. The staff of RTC 2009 is looking forward to seeing all of you on Saturday and presenting you with a Recruit Training graduate! It will be a proud day for all. |
