which became the enduring symbols of this fashion house.
In the beginning Gucci faced some shortage of standard materials in the
1940s during the fascist dictatorship period, however they introduced the
Bamboo bag which became the iconic product of the Gucci brand and these bags
are still popular nowadays.
In 1953 Guccio Gucci died and his sons took over the business. Gucci's son
Aldo a sharp minded businessman expanded the Gucci business and introduced
it to new markets and started opening stores in Milan, London, Palm Beach,

Aldo relentlessly pushed the expansion of the company from a $6000

spanning in Europe, Asia and America. However, Aldo involvement in a $7
million tax fraud scandal ultimately enabled his nephew Maurizio to take
control.
The introduction of the Gucci accessories collection in 1979 consisted of
makeup bags,
lighters & pens which also became popular. But due to the Gucci family
having fiery personalities, arguing during decision making and meetings
which lead to poor business decisions and could not turn the company took
the brand to bankruptcy in the late 1970s, that is when a Bahrain based
investment holding company InvestCrop bought the 50% shares of Aldo Gucci
and the remaining 50% shares belonged to Maurizio.
The company was re-launched in the 1990s with a new team of designers lead
by Tom Ford who became the creative director of Gucci. The brands new
