BAPeee started in 1993 as a T-shirt brand, originating in Tokyo, and became
one of the first Japanese streetwear brands.
Bapes logo and themes are derived from the original
Planet of the Apes movies, while the brand's name is based on a common
Japanese saying, "bathing in lukewarm water", describing the comfortable
lifestyle of today's youth in Japan. Bape's main focus is on clothing and the company produces a variety of clothing items, including: hoodies, jackets, jeans, sweatshirts, shirts, polos and most notably, "BapeStas" shoes. A hoodie (also spelled hoody) is a shirt or sweatshirt with a hood and sometimes a zipper up front. Some hoodies also have strings that can be pulled to tighten or loosen the hood. Bape Hoodies can be any colour and represent different subcultures in
different locales. In Australia and New Zealand, hoodies are often worn by
surfers and skateboarders. Many male 20-somethings in the Northern
Hemisphere wear hoodies as a fashion statement even when the weather is not
cold outside (even in places with warm climates such as California), partly
because they are considered comfortable. Best selling items of Bape Clothing & Other Bape
