Denim Clothing History

Denim is a twill-woven fabric usually cotton, used for jeans, overalls, trousers, work uniforms and other garments like jackets, purses, handbags, shirts etc. The name denim originated in the French serge de Nimes. Since late eighteen century it is in American usage. Its color was traditionally blue to make blue jeans. Denim clothing is usually all cotton, though it is sometimes made of a cotton-synthetic mixture.

In the late of 20th century denim jeans become very popular for leisure wear because of denim's durability, quality alone with comfort. Jeans comes from Genoa, Italy word (Gênes), Historic brands of jeans include Levi's, Jordache and Wrangler, today jeans are a very popular form of casual dress around the world and come in many styles and colors for every one like men, women, teenagers etc.

Besides trousers or jeans, denim can also be made into Overalls, Shorts, Dresses , Denim skirts, Shirts, Jackets, Bags, Capris, Cut offs etc.
