The Fish Thing

Well, if you've visited me site (and I'm presuming all of you have if you've got here, unless you've been cruel and sneaky and just somehow got the URLs for each of the pages, which would be a little pointless really, all things considered) you would have noticed that cool gold swirly fish. I know it's a Christian sign but that's not why I picked it or why it's there!

The whole fish thing started ages ago when me and a friend started saying about fish because of something she said about her ex (but it was out of order so I won't embarrass him to the nation like that, Jack's cool!) so we ended up saying "hail the fish!" That's also "the thing" that she mentions on her site that she doesn't go into, and all things considered it's probably not that surprising!

Anyway, since I ain't gonna sit and talk about her love life, the "hail the fish" thing got old but it came up again when my friend Gazza kept calling me a fish. It was funny but now I'm traumatised by the fact that he decided to bite me because he thought I looked like a dead fish (and apparently that's a big compliment, considering he thought I was tasty!!)

One of his mate's bands, Compatmode, made up a song called "I'm a Fish," which is really cool and really funny but also quite traumatic. If I ever find out the words I'll put them up here because I'm sure there's someone out there who'll want them. (no offence to Steve or the rest of the band but I don't think people are even gonna read this far down! Maybe I should put a counter here? Well, I was going to, but I tried about 10 and the counter-curse is back so none of them work...)

Anyway, everyone started calling me a fish and though Gazza's now stopped most of my mates have now been given fishy nicknames, as you will have noticed if you scrolled far enough down the "about me" section to read the bit about my friends. People have now stopped calling me a fish now (thank God!) but there's a film coming out called "Help! I'm a Fish!" and I have the feeling that the fish trauma is going to start again soon!
