...:: save any images ::...
including those on websites with right-click disabled

The easiest method: for INTERNET EXPLORER and NETSCAPE

In the past 2-3 issues of "2600 Magazine: The Hacker Quarterly" there has been highly-technical discussion of subverting right-click suppression on webpages.

The only real reason anyone would need to get around this type of futile protection is to easily save images off a website to their computer. In my opinion, there is nothing more frustrating or corny than right-clicking on an image to save it, only to have some stupid alert message appear.

In 2600 magazine, they showed code for programs you can make to save right-click-protected images... but seriously, how many ordinary websurfers can program? Maybe 1 or 2 percent?

Here is a superior (and simpler) tool for the rest of us that allows you to save any image found on the net. It works in newer versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape so long as you have javascript turned on. Here I explain how to install it on IE only, but I am sure the procedure is almost identical for Netscape.

First, open Internet Explorer and right-click the toolbar. This shows you the different possible toolbars you can enable... if the "Links" toolbar isn't checked, check it.

Now, click on this link and drag it to the "Links" toolbar:

([escapetwice.com] image saver)

...drop it on that toolbar. It should make a button appear that reads "([escapetwice.com] image saver)."

Now re-open Internet Explorer and surf to any website, including those using right-click blocking to prevent image saving. Click the button and the page will reload with nothing but images. You can now right-click and save all the images you want without any hassle.

To see the original version of the page again, hit your browser's reload/refresh or back button. This works on all webpages except for those in frames, in which case you will see a "No Images" alert.

Enjoy! Share this page with your friends.
