Dead but not Gone Chapter One |

| Justyn drove home thinking about what he had done to help the young boy. He also thought of what may happen to the future of the boy and his people for him enter acting with them.
Was Justyn meant to enteract with them? Was he meant to be an overlooking spirit to the boy? Was he even totally sure he was not dreaming and this would all end as soon as he woke? Was this a gift that he would have to get used to having? Was all this something that would change his own life and future? Was this just his imagination playing tricks on him? All these questions and no definate answers were very puzzling to Justyn.
The next day , Friday, it was raining, so Justyn would not get a chance to go back and see the boy till Monday. It was all he could do to keep his mind on the things he was doing around the house during the weekend, he was constantly thinking of the boy and how he was doing.
On Monday, Justyn was on the job site earlier then the rest of the workers. He found the boy still in the same structure he was in on Thursday of the previous week. The boy seemed to be ok again and as soon as he seen Justyn, he began thanking him for the spirit medicine. The boy told him that he would have died without it, and that he owed his life to Justyn.
Justyn asked the boy what his name was once again, this time to see if he could understand it. the boy told him it was " Nu shom ray" and his people were the "ooh ah tah sheem A"
tribe. This was as close as Justyn could understand the words and he had never heard of any tribe by this name before.
Just about then Justyn heard the trucks from the other workers and he told the boy he had to leave, but would try to speak with him again before sundown.
Justyn was so busy working the rest of the day he never got a chance to speak with the boy and the same was true for the next day.
Wednesday, was a good day for Justyn as the only ones working were the boss and himself. The boss told Justyn about 8:30 that he had to go get some more materials and to speak with some people and would probably be gone till after lunch time. Justyn told him that was ok, he had his lunch with him and had plenty to do while the boss was gone.
As soon as the boss was gone out of site, Justyn turned around to see if he could find the boy. He almost fell backwards, as the boy was standing right in front of him, as if waiting to speak to him.
The boy told Justyn he would be gone for a moon or longer, that he had to travel to far distances to tell other tribes of the upcoming meeting here at their camp and it took a while to get to the other tribes and back again. He also asked Justyn if he had more fever powder for he would be going back thru the area where he had been attacked by the animals that howled. (Justyn figured this to mean either wolves or coyotes.)
Justyn went to his car and brought back two more packs of the "fever powder" and watched the boy dump them into his own pouches as he had done before. After this Justyn bid the boy a safe trip and the boy left running towards the trees at the back of the clearing. Justyn watched as he went out of sight before returning to work.
Justyn continued to work with the rest of the crew for about 5 weeks before he ever caught site of the boy again, he was constantly listening to what the others of the tribe had to say when he was close enough to hear them, so he could make sure the boy had not got lost or attacked again.
Justyn and the other workers were at a point of where the work was almost stopped due to waiting on other contractors, like the plumber, the electrician, and the insulation crew. These were parts of the job his boss had always sub-contracted out to help save time. The next thing would be for them to get the exterior ready for brick and then start putting in trim as soon as the sheetrock people were done installing and finishing the sheetrock.
Justyn worked only on Tuesday and Wednesday of the sixth week since the boy had been gone, and he still seen nothing of the boy.
