Dead but not Gone
Chapter One
"Hey Justyn, you going to take lunch all day or are you going to get back to work", Justyn heard the boss yell. He shook his head as he tried to figure out what was going on. It seemed as if he was in a trance or something. He headed back to work, but as he walked he spoke to the boy softly, hoping he would hear him. He told the boy he would talk more later when he wasn't busy. The boy acknowledged this and went off in another direction. Justyn found himself eagerly trying to get alone each chance he could, but no matter how hard he tried he didn't get a chance to speak again to the boy until the following week, since today was Friday, they would not be back until Monday. On Monday Justyn searched as much as he could all around the woods near the clearing trying to find the boy. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't find him. Tuesday and Wednesday proved to be unrewarding also. Justyn continued to see the other members of the group and still watched them going about their day to day living, but he could not find the boy. On Thursday morning when Justyn got to the job site, he seen the boy standing next to the shop building in almost the same spot where he had last spoke with him. Justyn hurried over to the side of the building making an excuse that he had to take a leak, so the others on the job wouldn't think anything. As he passed the boy, he said softly for him to follow, and then Justyn continued around the back of the shop. As soon as he was around the corner he stopped and turned to the boy. He told the boy that he was not alone and that the ones he was with would not understand him speaking to the boy since they could not see him or the others, just like the boy couldn't see them. The boy told Justyn that he understood, Spirits were always acting in mysterious ways, and this helped to explain why. The boy told Justyn that he had been very busy doing some running of messages to the other groups for his people and that is the reason he was not there for a while. Justyn told the boy that when he could he would speak more, but for now he would have to deal with the others that were with him and he wanted to make sure the boy understood that he was not ignoring him. The boy said he understood and that he would wait until the time was right for Justyn. He told him also that he was very interested in learning all he could about Spirits, and since Justyn was the first one to ever try to explain things to his people he would wait patiently for as long as it took. The boy headed off towards the woods and Justyn quickly headed towards the basement and the work truck to get started for the day.
