Dead but not Gone Chapter One |

| Justyn was a carpenter and was working on a nice size house. There was going to be a two story house built on top of the basement he was now looking at.
The basement had been contracted out to a local mason, and was completed, now they (Justyn and the other carpenters) could start building the house on it.
As Justyn turned from away from the edge of the basement wall that he had been looking down over, he seen something flash. In a split second it seemed he seen something or someone move across the clearing between him and the work truck.
He stood for a few seconds and looked around very slowly, trying to get his eye to focus properly. Justyn was totally blind in his left eye, and had been for about two years now. He thought he seen something move to his right and as he turned towards it, he seen .................... NO! there was NO way he could have seen what he thought he had seen. He violently shook his head and looked again, nothing there now.
Whew! he thought, "for a second, I thought I was seeing things".
Just then right in front of him about seven feet away he seen another .......... STOP! he hollered loudly, and the other carpenters and the boss looked at him and said "Why?"
He knew then that no one else had seen what had just happened. He said, "Sorry you guys, just had a dizzy spell and thought I was thinking for it to stop, didn't know I was thinking aloud"
The boss said, "Maybe you had better go sit down for a few minutes in the shade, maybe the heat is already getting to you".
As Justyn turned to walk towards the seperate shop building that was on the lot towards the rear of the clearing, he was met face to face with a ..........
Again he shook his head, and making sure not to say anything, he waved his hands in front of him, but there was nothing there.
He made it to the shop building and sat down on the bench in front of it, and as he looked back towards the basement he seen several of them going about their business as if they were the only people around.
He watched two come out of the woods, one toting a deer on his shoulders, they continued to about ten feet from him then disappeared as quickly as they had appeared.
Am I going crazy or is this some kind of a dream, Justyn questioned in his mind. He could not believe he was actually seeing them. As he turned slowly looking in different directions, he seen several more of them doing different activities. He seen one female that seemed to be nursing a young one. He seen several that were walking in different directions.
Each time he tried to focus on them for more then a second or two, they would disappear quickly. As if they were never there in the first place.
Who would believe he was actually seeing this many of them in one location and who should he tell about them. These were the questions running through his mind, almost as fast as they were appearing and diappearing.
Who were they and why could he see them? What did they want with him, if anything? Why would they pick him out from the others on the job site? Was he really the only one that could see them, or were the others just keeping quiet about them?
Justyn thought, "How do you tell people, you are seeing red blooded native American indians everywhere you look?"
