Co-Star Profile-Joanna Cook Moore (Follow That Dream 1962)

Joanna Cook Moore as Amanda Claypole with Elvis in Follow That DreamBorn: 10 November 1934 Americus, Georgia, USA
Died: 22 November 1997 Indian Wells, California, USA. (lung cancer)
Spouse: ? Jordan (? - ?)
Ryan O'Neal (1963 - 1967) (divorced) 2 children

Joanna Cook Moore starred with Elvis in Follow That Dream as social worker Alisha Claypoole.

Southern bred beauty Joanna (Cook) Moore certainly had things going for her when her career began in the 50s. Armed with a beautifully smoky voice that enhanced her already stunning, creamy blonde beauty, Joanna played wily females for sure in such films as Walk on the Wild Side (1962) and Son of Flubber (1963), but she is probably best remembered as the benevolent girlfriend of Sheriff Andy Taylor in the early season TV episodes of "The Andy Griffith Show." At the peak of her career Joanna married her "Prince Charming", Ryan O'Neal, on April 3, 1963, who would be making a huge impact as Rodney Harrington the following year on the nighttime soap "Peyton Place." The good-looking couple had two children who also became actors - Tatum (later Oscar-winner) and Griffin. The marriage, however, was tempestuous, to say the least, and they divorced acrimoniously in February of 1967. Things started to slide after that for Joanna. She lost her children in 1970 due to severe drug and alcohol addiction. Both of her children would battle similar problems as adults. There was talk that Joanna was living in self-styled communes and completely abandoning herself from any Hollywood contact. She was not heard of for decades until discovered in the Palm Springs area involving herself in small theatre projects. Joanna died in 1997 of lung cancer with daughter Tatum at her side.
