Trouble arises for him when he has to get his dad's fishing boat out of hock by singing songs in a local night club. As usual, he's besieged by girls, too, including a little rich girl spending the summer by the shore, and Robyn, a tough club singer.
Features a slew of great songs, including "Return to Sender," "A Boy Like Me, A Girl Like You," "Never Let Me Go," and "The Nearness of You," "I Don't Want To," "Because of Love," "Song of the Shrimp," and the title tune.

Trivia

A publicity shot for Girls Girls GirlsDuring the performance of Return To Sender, Elvis imitates many of the moves of his good friend soul singer Jackie Wilson. Elvis smiles over at Wilson who is on the set (off camera) a number of times.

Working titles for the movie were "Cumbo Ya Ya" (Everybody talks At Once), "Welcome aboard", "A Girl In Every Port" and "Jambalaya".

History repeated itself during the filming of the movie when Elvis sang "Where Do You Come From" to Laurel Goodwin in front of the same Gothic Stone Church that had been used twenty years earlier in the Oscar winning movie "Going My Way" in which Bing Crosby had sung a song with it as a back drop. Elvis' song was deleted from the film however the church can still be glimpsed in the movie.
