Co-Star Profile-Jenny Maxwell (Blue Hawaii 1961)

Elvis and Jenny Maxwell in a publicity shot for Blue hawaiiBorn: 3 September 1941 New York, New York, USA
Died:10 June 1981 Los Angeles, California, USA. (homicide)
Real Name: Jennifer Helene Maxwell
Spouse: Irvin Roeder (? - June 1981) (her/his death)

Jennifer Helene Maxwell was born on September 3, 1941. Jenny’s career began with television appearances on Wagon Train and the hit show The Twilight Zone. In 1959, Maxwell did her first film, Blue Denim, in which she co-starred along with Carol Lynley and fellow Elvis co-star Warren Berlinger (Spinout). Jenny was chosen to be in Elvis Prelsey’s upcoming film, Blue Hawaii. She played Ellie Corbett, one of the girls who is on tour of Hawaii with their teacher, Abigail Prentice.

Following her work with the King, Jenny appeared in two other films: Shotgun Wedding and Take Her, She’s Mine starring James Stewart and Sandra Dee. In 1965, Maxwell did guest appearacnes on the television series The F.B.I. and The Wild, Wild West. That was the last thing Jenny would do in her acting career.

Both Jenny and her husband, Irvin Roeder, were gunned down during a robbery in June, 1981. The details of her death are sketchy and confusing. In June 1981 Jenny and her husband, famous attorney Ervin "Tip" Roeder, were shot to death outside their Beverly Hills condo. It's an interesting, but odd, coincidence that Tip was also actor Nick Adams' attorney and was involved in trying to solve Nick's death. Nick allegedly committed suicide in 1968, but Tip and others felt he was murdered. As many fans know, Nick Adams was a good friend of Elvis' and often visited him on movie sets and in Memphis.
