His Will was written, but not dated or signed. On 14 Apr 1727 Mrs Scammell took the Oath and Kissed the Book, that she would administer William Scammel's estate
I give my house in Tetbury near the church to my beloved wife Elizabeth Scammell during her life, and after her decease to be equally divided between my two youngest sons Thomas Scammell and Ambrose Scammell, and in case either of them should die before the age of 21 his part to be equally divided between the rest of my surviving children
To my daughter Elizabeth ?Showring five shillings and to my sons William, Joseph, Thomas and Ambrose Scammell each of them five shillings

Daniel Scott als Witts, reputed son of Daniel Scott, was Apprenticed to John Cooke and Elizabeth his wife, worsted combers. Daniel's reputed father had paid 4 pounds for his Apprenticeship, which the Overseers had held on his behalf. I photocopied this Indenture, as it gives more detail than was usual.
