Subject: [GLS] DARTER Mary
I have obtained a copy of the will of William Hayes of Tetbury dated 6th April, 1857, in which he leaves his servant MARY DARTER the sum of nineteen pounds nineteen shillings. Could anyone tell me why the odd amount and not 20.
Also is anyone looking for her as her surname is not on the 1851 Census, she appears as Mary 42 Housekeeper Ashton.
William Hayes left his estate to his daughters who were married to a Nathaniel TYLER and a John TITCOMB if anyone is researching these two names, I would be happy to give your details.
Thank you, Ann Parfitt.

Answer- was he thinking of guineas?
