To my son Rowland Corbitt ... certain lands
To my wife Judith Corbitt land for her lifetime then to my sons Rowland and John as tenants in common
To my daughter Jane wife of John Howele ... certain land while she lives, to my son in law 15 pounds
To my grand daughter Jane Howele 10 pounds to be paid when she reaches age of 21
After all debts are paid, give in equal shares to my wife Judith and sons Rowland and John, and appoint them joint executors

John Corbitt wed 8 Aug 1777 to Hannah Walkley baptised 22 Jun 1755, daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Walkley of Horsley.
They baptised Jane 27 Nov 1778 who wed 1 Dec 1800 to Peter Deshon at Tetbury. (Can not find Peter's baptism or other references to his surname)
and Elizabeth 23 May 1780 who wed 5 Oct 1799 to Thomas Talboys at Tetbury

Will of John Corbitt 1801/36

Will made on 2 Mar 1795 and Proved 6 Apr 1801 by his daughters
To my late wife's brother Daniel Walkley and his sister Hester Walkley 150 pounds apiece
The Will covers 10 pages, and is designed to preserve the inheritance of his named properties by his daughter Jane and her heirs, and then by Elizabeth and her heirs, for 500 years, with the property to revert to the heirs of Robert Wight and Richard Davies if there is no heir from Jane and then from Elizabeth.
Thomas Cripps and Samuel Webb are appointed Trustees and executors.

When the daughters married, John did not change his Will, so after his death their husbands applied in their names to Administer it.
John wrote a codicil revoking the bequests of his late wife's brother, and amending her sister's sum to 50 pounds

John Cotton, wife Mary and family Edmund and Mary, had a Settlement Certificate from the Churchwardens and Overseers of St Peter in Hereford accepting ownership of him and his family, reference P 328a OV 3/1/2 dated 07-Jul 1729

John Cotton baptised Mary 17060217 and Edmund 17080209. His death is not recorded and Mary his widow was buried 17341111 aged asumed as 54. Mary Junior married Jonathan Achland 17571020.

Robert Cotton of Cheshire sent his Sorrel horse to Tetbury for the races to be held on 9 July 1720, but it did not run.
Philip Herbert, who has no constant settlement but oftimes lived with John Cotton, entered a horse on 9 July 1720, reference D 566 Z15.
