Only one adult appears in the Tetbury Census, who soon dies (has an asterix after his name). This suggests that Nathaniel's 3 servants were his three grandchildren Thomas, Mary and John, and the Lodger was his son, also named Nathaniel.

James Crook, son of Martin Crooke of Tetbury, Apprentice with Master William Atwood and his wife Jane to teach him the trade of Worsted comber reference P328a OV 4/1 dated 19-Feb 1695. He was bonded to behave well when off duty, not to marry, and to obey his master and mistress.

Jonathan Crook baptised 16880321, son of Martin, married 17090421 to Mary Pritchard 1682 - 17660606 aged 84. He is described as a Wire Drawer when he was buried aged 80. They baptised Elizabeth 17090605 - 17331106, Anna 1713, Mary 1719, and buried John 17380616.

An Unusual Story

Robert Crook 1675 - 17290305 and his first wife Abigail Ind 1675 - 17170723 baptised Sarah 16991229, Mary 17020403, Robert 17060721 - 17590830.

Robert Crook married 17200625 to Sarah Chambers 17040228 - 17310610, daughter of Francis, who baptised her baseborn son Robert 17180901, and baseborn son Stephen 17200623, two days before she married Robert Crook (the Younger? No, he was only 14 years old).
Samuel and John were baptised 17310118 as sons of Robert Crook.
Robert Senior has been dead almost two years. It looks like the father is Robert Junior now aged 24.
Sarah was buried 17310610, five months after the twins were baptised. Robert's sister Sarah was buried 17391220 aged 40.

Samuel Crook, his wife Elizabeth, and his children Martha 20, Mary 15, Samuel 13, Rachell 11, and Lazarus aged 5 were reported by the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor at Monktonland, Somerset, reference P328a OV 3/3/1 dated 26-May 1766
They had come to Monktonland, were not wanted there, and the officials were sending them back to Tetbury

He had to deal with the Intestate estates of his father and two brothers
