An Odd Story

William Crew's first two children baptised are called the children of Mary Blake 17230512 - 17870927, daughter of Charles, daughters Ann 17470719 'and Mary Blake, baseborn' buried 17790718 aged 30, and Hester 17481225 'and Mary Blake' who was buried 17581124 aged 10. They are followed by John 17500916 - 17590115 aged 8, Samuel 17520830, Mary 17560119 - 17580816, William 17570305 - 17591202 aged 2, and Mary 17590401 - 17610221.
As Hannah died in 1756, Mary was buried in 1787 as William's widow. Most people would have forgotten William's interesting household.

John Crew left a Will Proved in 1841, reference number 1841/256
