Meeting about Replacing the Church held 22 June 1729
Influential citizens held a meeting to consider what to do about the state of the old church attended by John Barrett, Henry Crowther, Daniel Evans, Richard Harding, John Johnson, Thomas Keen, John Phillips, John Purnell, Francis Savage, John Sloper, William Tomkinson, Barnard Wickes, Joseph Wickes, John Wight, Henry Wightwick
The matter went to Parliament who suggested repairs and on 10 Feb 1740 charged Thomas Estcourt, Richard Harding, Joseph Ralph, Charles Savage and William Savage with overseeing the work.
After spending money doing doubtful repairs, the Old Church was demolished and rebuilt to be opened in 1770

Will signed 8 Apr 1742 appears complicated, names his brother in law Joseph Wickes, neice Jane Baily, daughter of Edward Baily, tailor of Tetbury, neice Mary Shillam wife of John Shillam, nephew Thomas Parker, son of Arthur Parker, woolcomber, and neice Elizabeth Parker, daughter of Arthur Parker. Appoints Joseph Wickes executor and leaves the remainder of his possessions to him


Hannah Evans married 17470215 to Thomas Frampton 17240118 - 17661210, son of Thomas and Elizabeth at Ampnet Crucis, and they baptised Mary 17471030, Elizabeth 17490430 died, and John 17511006.

John Evans, now residing in Tetbury, a Taylor, made a Statement that he had heard he was born in Saanarvan (St Arvans, Gwent) in County of Brockworth, where his father Thomas Evans had a lawful settlement, and where he was put as apprentice to Richard price of the same place, reference P 328a OV 3/1/2 dated 06-Sep 1751

He married 17180726 to Margaret Mesiter and she was buried 17310208. Both sons appear to have left home by 1735.
He was buried as Richard Exell 17510227.

Mary Exell, widow of Nicholas, was buried 17490410. Was she born about 1711, and married Richard's son Nicholas about 1732 and then he died before 1735? Her daughter Mary was not baptised.
