Hello Elizabeth,

Thank you very much for putting your Tetbury site on the internet. It has helped me to find an ancestor that I've been looking for 4 or 5 years. I have an old family letter written in 1904, which says in part "My grand father, William POOLE (born Madeley, Shropshire) married Sarah CLUTTERBUCK, of Cirencester." I have not been able to find their births or the marriage, on the IGI.

Sarah was buried at Fenny Stratford, Buckinghamshire in Feb.1838, aged 66, which put her birth about 1771. On the IGI for Gloucestershire, I found 3 Sarahs born at this time, 2 at Eastington and 1 at Tetbury, no Cirencester.

On your Tetbury site there is a reference dated 1771, to a Richard Clutterbuck, his wife Mary and daughter Sarah, who "had a Settlement problem at Cirencester, who wanted them to return to TETBURY". So this may be the connection to Cirencester that I'm looking for.
