Oh yes, they're two separate questions, and it works both ways.
First, do you NEED glasses? You know if you do. Yes you do. Don't play games with ME. I'm not your doctor, but I am your friend and confidante. Can you read the smallest writing on this screen clearly from just a foot away? Can you read the title of this page from across the room? There are some really quite good on-line tests to check if you need a proper eye exam.
A reliable swift idea of how far off 20/20 you are.
Another test
Whole bunch of tests, including astigmatism wheel

Test for Astigmatism
For a great vision simulator, which shows what Rx's up to 12 look like, with astigmatism, go here
If the results are borderline, the obvious advice is to visit an optometrist. I happen to know that some people will not go.............
Those of you who don't want to wear glasses
I'm not here to counsel your self-esteem issues, but I will tell you this. Women DO make passes at men who wear glasses, and vice versa. Anything you've been told to the contrary is nonsense, this entire website is dedicated to those who LOVE men in glasses, 5000 hits in two months gives you an idea of its popularity. And this is a small site the search engine spiders haven't picked up yet.
Now listen to me. I've spent my life admiring, and therefore studying men who wear glasses. There are two things to remember. The first one is so obvious, I shouldn't need to say it, but apparently I have to repeat this like some sort of mantra on an almost daily basis. Choose the right frames. Yes, you. There are HUNDREDS to choose from, so why buy the ones that don't suit you? Every single day of my life I run into someone, of either gender, who has made the ultimate bad choice in glasses. I have no idea what they were thinking, what advice they took, or what they'd been smoking, but I feel like pinning a note on their sleeve.
Oh, and for the record? It's the frames that matter. Not the lenses. No one other than a fetishist cares about (or notices) the lenses, 99% of the time. By the way, if you pay for high index lenses on low strength prescriptions for aesthetic reasons you are wasting your money. Hey, it's your money.
See my new rant about this at Dear Lecky
The second point is simple: maybe the reason you aren't scoring is nothing whatsoever to do with your glasses? Maybe it's your hair, or your teeth, or your clothes, or.......(gasp) your personality? I'm a fetishist. I seek out men in glasses, and I've dumped several really hot ones because they were JERKS! Don't use glasses as an excuse. The few, rare women who are anti-glasses aren't worth having anyway. Lucky escape and all that.
Those of you who wish you could wear glasses......
.......but, alas, pass the tests, don't lose heart. Go see my new site
Glasses Over Contacts (GOC) which also has advice and information on Induced Myopia (IM) and related topics. It's your right. If people have the right to surgically alter the shape of their noses, why should you be oppressed? Stand up for your rights. GOC and IM are also ways people who already enjoy their glasses can increase their enjoyment.
