HELPFUL HINTS
* Before lighting a fire: tie back hair and loose clothing.
* Make sure there is a bucket of water next to the cooking area.
* Put out fires with sprinkles of water. NEVER pour on.
* Carry along a bandana for your hair or to use as a pot carrier.
* Smear liquid soap on the outside of pots to prevent burning.
* Store sandwiches upright for the nosebag meal.
* Carry a juicy fruit on a hike to quench your thirst.
* Suck on a hard candy to quench your thirst.
* Salami and other hard meats travel well for long periods of time.
* put dish water to heat before eatting.
* Never dump waste water into your water sourcd. Dump 200 ft inland.

20 OZ. BISCUIT MIX SERVES 10 PEOPLE
1 LB PASTA YIELDS 8 CUPS COOKED
1 CUP RICE = 3 1/2 - 4 CUPS COOKED
1 GAL OF LIQUID YIELDS 16 - 1 CUP SERVINGS
1 LB CHEESE YIELS 16 SLICES OR 4 CUPS GRATED
1 LB LARGE MARSHMELLOW = 64 MARSHMELLOWS
8 OZ SALAD DRESSING = 12 SERVINGS
