COOKING HELFUL HINTS
*Before lighting a fire: tie back hair and loose clothing. Be sure that a bucketful of sand or water is a hand.
*Know your wind direction
*Use only the amount of wood needed for a fire.
*To avoid damp matches: dip in pariffin or nail polish once or enclose in a srew top jar
*When putting out a fire with water always sprinkle water, never pour.
*when re-kindling a fire, place embers of coals along sides of logs and blow or fan.
*Grease a pan before melting chocolate.
*Eggs are more safely carried if stored in flour or popped corn.
*Carry along a dry bandana to use as a pot lifter.
*Always soap the outside of your cooking pots to make clean up easier. NEVER soap cast iron.
*Always have a handwashing station near your cooking area.
*make sure water is on heating for cla\ean-up while your eating.
*Salami and other hard meats travel well as long as they are not sliced.
*Never dump waste water in a water source. Dump at least 200 ft away.
*Bleach can be used as a sanitizer for your clean up.
