Neelkan - Logs - Chapter 1

Chapter 1 -

Short Summary: Neelkan finally comes to. In the Infirmary of the White Tower!! Eeeeek!

Quote: The... Tower... The WHITE TOWER!? Neelkan looks for a moment like he might pass out. Or scream. Or... well... other not very good reactions. Light! The White Tower! Aes Sedai! Not just... women, but AES SEDAI! "No no no no no!" he quickly says, lowering his voice a little. "Don't bring the Aes Sedai over here." He can tolerate the young woman before him as long as she doesn't bring Aes Sedai!

Denn'ryiel

Short Summary: The Tower's bandit in the infirmary meets an Accepted by the name of Denn! Who wants to bathe him...

Quote: "My... bath...?" Neelkan suddenly wonders if he was bathed before while he was out of it!? Some woman, not his mother or big sisters... bathing him!? A horrified expression crosses his face and he starts to flush.

Wyntere

Short Summary: A conversation with the Mistress of Novices. Someone actually takes the time to sit down and talk with Neel? Hm.

Quote: Grump... Wait a minute... Neelkan's eyes narrow slightly, and he says in a softer voice, "Yer not.. uh... Aes Sedai are ya?" Eh... He's been rude to her. She's probably gonna skin him alive or something. He just knows it. He seems to stiffen up all over. Yeah, she's acting nice NOW, but she's a woman. She'll turn on him. They all do.

Redd

Short Summary: Neelkan meets Redd, a strange boy... And first hears of Espiria.

Quote: "Could ya -please- not call m'e sir anymore? Yer makin' me feel old." Neelkan may have white streaks in his hair, but he's no more then seventeen, he could probably even pass for sixteen fairly easily. He held out on complaining about the 'sir' thing for as long as he could. "Just Neel."

Walking

Short Summary: A trip to the Courtyard! Neel finally gets out of the bloody infirmary. For a walk at least, getting his first hint to the fact that he may have been to the Tower before. In his dreams.

Quote: Looking back up at the Tower for a moment... Neelkan shakes his head, bringing a hand up to his forehead and closing his eyes... "Nothin'.. I just think I've.. seen it before is all. Prolly saw a sketch of it or something." he says in a dismissing fashion, but he doesn't believe that at all.

Espiria

Short Summary: A meeting with a Novice becomes a strange turning point. Plus a Red Sedai! Eeep!

Quote: Erk! Suddenly... Neelkan seems to have something in his mouth, but he KNOWS there's nothing there. He tries to move his mouth, trying to make sounds around whatever it is and ends up sounding like he's choaking, because of the sounds of effort in his throat. Then he just sits there and glowers, glaring at the woman with a soft rumbling sound in his throat. Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Burn Scars

Short Summary: More in the Infirmary. A conversation with Redd and Espiria.

Quote: "Hello, Redd." Neelkan responds in kind. The only reason he even remembers the boy's 'name' is because it reminds him of his own nickname a little. "'n ya can just call me, Neel if ya want." Then he reaches over and instantly changes the subject.. he does that a lot.. and picks up the book. "Suggestion, don't read 'is. Don't see why Wyn thought I'd like it. Some soppy romance." Booooooooring.

Big Brother

Short Summary: Neelkan finds himself adopting a little brother...

Quote: There's a sleeping kid on his shoulder... Arg. What did he do to deserve this!? Well, at least he's a -boy-. If it was a girl this would be horrid.

Foamy Goodness

Short Summary: A night away from the Tower leads Neelkan to enjoy a Tavern. A little too much...

Quote: Oh... and the ale! While waiting for his answer he takes a good sized drink on it. Aw! Bliss! Nice foamy goodness! How you were missed!

Characters: Neelkan, Juzriel, Seon, Tiau, Sirralene, and Yannick.

Denn to the Rescue

Short Summary: Denn'ryiel helps him sober up before returning to the Tower from his night on the Town.

Quote: His humming trails off and Neelkan looks over towards Denn as she helps him down the road. Then he mutters in a soft voice, "Yer nice... too nice f'r a woman..." Pause. He looks the woman over a few times, "Ya sure yer not a man in disguise 'r somethin'?" The question actually sounds genuine. Not intended as a jest.

Sunan and a Viewing

Short Summary: After meeting an extremely talkative trainee, Neelkan finds out how special his adopted brother really is.... and he pisses off a few Aes Sedai. As usual.

Quote: Now there's something new. A silver fan over his head, spread out, that looks like it's made of some kind of metal. The tips of it are glowing red hot, like it was heated over a fire. It's only there for a few seconds before folding up and vanishing. - Redd's Viewing of Neelkan

Aed

Short Summary: Aed comes to the Tower with a message, and Neelkan tries to spare the boy by telling him to go away while he /can/!

Quote: "I AM NOT SCARED OF WOMEN!!" Neelkan roars even louder, his face red with anger! This is probably gettin' a few looks from those in the Courtyard. Then he suddenly hears what Kirra says and gapes at her. That is so mean! But this actually calms him down a little and he says in a much softer voice, "I am not scared of women. I hate 'em! 'ey're mean. 'ey don't play fair. 'n 'ey just go 'round insultin' me! The few 'at I do LIKE 'r only 'cause 'ey happen t' be NICE to me!" Unlike THIS woman!

Family and Dreams

Short Summary: A discussion of bad dreams and death of family makes Neelkan a little uncomfortable...

Quote: Huh!?!? Neelkan instantly turns around, his sisters forgotten and puts a hand on the boy's back, "Look.. I... blood and ashes! Arg." This is so confusing! "I ... I'm sorry! Please don't cry..." And oddly, he knows what's wrong! "'ey were yer family, 'n now ya think 'ey're prolly dead..." Oh man... Neel HATES his family, but he wouldn't be able to handle it if they died... Sigh. He ignores the Aes Sedai and just hugs the kid now, closing his eyes.
