05/01/2000 Infirmary, White Tower, Tar Valon Square in shape, this room is most often abuzz with activity. It contains the normal implements of a teaching infirmary, in fact, it is extremely well stocked with all manner of things: cots, jars, bottles, syringes, bandages, cloths, cabinets, shelves, books and tables along with plenty of hot water. The air has that sterile smell associated with the constant use of redwort, tinged with the unpleasant prickle of witchhazel. While most of the Healing is done via the One Power at the Tower, there are many minor medical situations that are dealt with the old fashioned way. There are several areas curtained off, for patients' privacy as well as for instructional usages. This is a teaching infirmary for the Yellow Ajah, after all. Beds in cheerful colors are lined up in neat rows, providing a comfortable place to sleep after a Healer's tender ministrations. Windows are kept wide open to all for light and fresh air. Espiria heads into the informary, glancing around for a Yellow Sedai for a moment. She sighs, heading toward the back and rubbing her hand, wincing slightly as she does so. She hasn't seen either of you as yet. Redd seems preparing to leave, when he catches sight of Espiria. Wyntere Sedai said only over a meal, but she never said chance meetings were out. "Hello." He says, walking to her. "Are you all right, Miss?" Laying back on proped up pillows, Neelkan has his arms folded in front of him and is trying to avoid looking at any of the evil women in the room while he reads a book that Wyntere brought for him a few days ago. He looks absolutely bored with whatever it is, but it's better then nothing. Espiria blinks, noting Redd now as she beams a happy smile, "Redd? Oh..I haven't seen you for awhile now." She chuckles, clasping her hands in front of her as she giggles happily. "Well..I sorta burned myself alittle bit and I was looking for a Sedai to help me out with it." She winces just a bit, shaking her head as she lifts her hand to show a perfect circle burn in the palm of her hand. "I...umm..sorta let something get alittle away from me." She blushes brightly, shaking her head. "But..I'm fine otherwise. How are you?" She notes Neel looking rather bored also and plans to visit him as soon as she can. Redd frowns. "Be careful, Miss." He glances over to Neel as well, then comments. "Nothing, still." Turning the page, Neelkan skims it as if to see what happens, then he quickly flips to the end of the book and skims that page too. Then he gawks at it and looks discusted. Obviously he doesn't care for the end very much and he closes the book and tosses it down on the bed. Shesh. Grrrrrr. With that distraction gone, he glances around, and spots the novice who spoke with him earlier, and the young boy he met the other day here. He smooths his expression and waves a hand slightly in their direction. Espiria smiles and nods, pausing to offer a wave to Neel with a soft smile. Her head tips to one side as a Yellow walks in fron the hallway. She bobs a quick curtsey, smiling in relief. "Good evening Essa Sedai. Might you help this?" She holds up her hand to the Sedai, causing the Yellow's brows to raise before she chuckles, "Ah..training mistake? Come this way, I'll fix that right up for you." Espi glances back to Redd, smiling. "I'llb e right back, Redd." and turns to head with the Sedai to get her hand fixed. Redd frowns as Espiria gets moved away from his current location. He's never going to get a decent conversation with her. He glances over at Neel again and nods. "Hello again, si..." No, he didn't like that. "Hello, Neelkan?" He seems unsure of the name, as he rarely uses any. "Hello, Redd." Neelkan responds in kind. The only reason he even remembers the boy's 'name' is because it reminds him of his own nickname a little. "'n ya can just call me, Neel if ya want." Then he reaches over and instantly changes the subject.. he does that a lot.. and picks up the book. "Suggestion, don't read 'is. Don't see why Wyn thought I'd like it. Some soppy romance." Booooooooring. The Yellow takes her to the side, bringing out a few containers and rubbing the salve on the burn. "Now, how does that feel?" She smiles at the girl, head moving slightly to watch the two boys at the end of the row for a moment. Espi sighs in relief, nodding gently. "Much better. Thank you Essa Sedai." She lances down to her hand where the reddness is leaving her skin already. She smiles again, glancing over to them as well. "Can I still do my regular duties? I have...alot of chores." The Yellow nods her head, chuckling. "Yes. It's far to small an injury to take time off from." She chuckles, leaning forward just a bit. "Though..I would try not to get it wet for a day or so, until the skin is completely healed." Redd smiles a little. "Thank you, Neel." He glances back to Espiria, his attentions seems to be centered on her right now. Neelkan nods in the direction of Espi talking with the Yellow and asks, "What's wrong with 'er? She hurt?" He doesn't sound -too- concerned, but he does sound a little. Now if she was carried in or something he might be a little more worried... Redd frowns. He doesn't like her coming in with a paper cut. "A burn." He shivers suddenly, then his eyes shoot open, at nothing, not even the usual staring at someone while not staring at them. The direction he looks now is at no one completely. The Yellow smiles again, brows furrowning slightly, "Now then. Novice Espiria?" She waits to get her attention and then goes on, "I want you back here again tommorrow so that I can place more of that salve on that hand. And be sure you remember what I said. No getting it wet till the skin is healed. Is that understood?" Espi glances back to the Yellow, nodding several times. "I understand. I'll come back tommorrow for more treatment." She smiles, bobbing a curtsey to the Sedai. "May I go now Essa Sedai?" The Yellow's eyes are on both boys now before she nods curtly, "Yes. But be sure that you do not get too close to those boys. I..know having friends is a wonderful thing, but some...of the Sisters wouldn't take kindly." Her eyes remain on Espi just long enough to make her point clear on who she means exactly. Giving a small nod at just hearing it's a burn, Neelkan settles down a little and looks at the boy. For a moment he stays silent, scratching at his white streaked hair, then finally he decides to go ahead and ask the question, looking a little... well... not worried, but serious at least. Which is more then people can usually say about his expression. "Are ya 'kay? Ya look kinda... bothered.." Redd shakes his head, OH SO slowly. "A burn?" He seems to be asking himself that. "Did that... happen?" He is torn between smiling and frowning, but the frown wins over, as he looks over his shoulder at his back, which he can't see at all. Once dismissed by the Aes Sedai, Espi heads over to boht of you, smiling. Her hand stays behind her for the time being, covering the fact that the stuff on it feels wierdly numb. She grins at the both of you, head tipping to one side. "I'm so glad to see you both." She chuckles, smiling. Well, that is till she sees Redd acting strange. "Umm..Redd? You okay?" Softly voiced concern there as she looks at him to see what he's trying to see. Huh!? Neelkan looks over the boy, then looks to the novice as she walks up, then looks back to Redd. "Uh... what do ya mean by that?" He looks back at Espi, blue-green eyes looking worried and totally confused. Redd blinks as he hears Espiria. "Is there something on my back, Miss?" He asks her, turning around and lifting his shirt to expose a small burn scar on his back, about the size of his palm. Espiria looks close, nodding. "Yes. There's a nasty scar on your back. Looks like it could have been from..umm..a burn maybe?" She tips her eyes to Neel, "He's...umm..got problems with stuff he can't remember." her eyes tip to Redd in worry and much concern, "You..remembering something, Redd?" Redd nods. "I remember... a blacksmith? Falling on something hot... what was it...?" He frowns. "I can't remember... does this mean my da is a blacksmith?" Neelkan scratches at his hair and looks from the girl to the boy, frowning slightly. But he says nothing. Espiria purses her lips, shrugging slightly. "Umm..I'm not sure, Redd. It..looks more like a handprint...or something like it at least." She scowls gently, shaking her head. "I...have no idea, but I'm sure that since something flickered up a bit, maybe more will come too?" Espiria holds her hand up, "About this big is the scar." Redd nods, a small smile, then at the size of the scar he nods, silently. Frowning, Neelkan glances at Espiria then back at Redd after all that is said and mutters, "Well I hope ya remembers more 'en 'at." Yeah, Neel knows about the lack of memory, and finds it oddly disturbing. Espiria glances at Neel, frowning slightly as Redd dashes out of the infirmary. She sighs softly, shaking her head for a moment. "I..wish I could have been more help to him." She looks down, then remembers something else she was supposed to mention. "Oh...I talked to Wyntere Sedai about your earrings. She is working on the problem. I'm sure you will get them back soon." She glances after Redd, nodding. "Yes..I hope so too." "Ya did!?" Neelkan perks up at the mention of Wyn and his earrings. Then he hears the rest of that. There's a problem? He just thought they were being stubborn or lazy or something... "What kinda problem is 'ere 'at she has t' work on?" Espiria shrugs her shoulders, looking back up again and over to you. "I'm not sure really. She knew about you wanting them back and she said she was working on getting them back to you." She bites her lower lip, "I..didn't think it was proper for me to ask her more. But she did know about them already and she just told me to tell you that she is working on it. Working on getting them back to you." Siiiigh. Neelkan settles down into his pillows and closes his eyes. He just wants his earrings back so he can either leave or decide to stay... But he only lets the small slump last for a moment and he opens his eyes again and smirks lop-sidedly and says, "Thanks! It was nice'a ya t' check f'r me." Espiria giggles, blushing brightly. "I'm always glad to help someone, Neelkan. I always have been." She giggles softly, "YOu..umm..still thinking about learning from the Gaidins here?" She blinks, eyes wide and curious also. "I'm...always trying to sneak a peek to see them working out, but..we really aren't supposed to go in and bother them. It's really incredible what some of them are able to do. Like watching water flow it's so...fluid." She grins brightly. "I'm thinkin' 'bout it, ye'h." Neelkan says, looking at her as she blushes and looks all wide eyed and curious and stuff. And starts talking like... well... a girl. "Uh... I can a'ready fight. Prolly not as good as 'ese... uh... gaidin 'r nothin', but I can fight! Ya should see m' with m' fan when I get it back." Pause... uh... "I mean... if I stay 'n all.. 'n if ya want to..." he gives his head a firm shake as if to clear his senses. Espiria smiles brightly, nodding. "Da always would practice out in the yard. I'd love to sit there and watch him work out with the sword that he had. He was so graceful." She shakes her head slowly, "I don't think there should be a problem. Once your up and around that is. They..usually just keep weapons of those who are just visiting, but if you train here..chances are you'll probably be given a room here too so that you don't have to travel back and forth to train." She shrugs a shoulder, clasping the stinging hand behind her again before she chuckles, "I never mind watching someone work out. Especially if they are a good fighter....though I've never really been one for fighting. Sure..I chased out foxes on the farm, but that's about as far as it ever went." She giggles, glancing around again for just a moment. "I...umm..I probably should get back to work. We have chores to get done by the end of the day and I still have a few things to finish up. I will see you around though..I'm sure." "I pretty good!" He yells out in a young man boasting kind of voice. "I'd hafta b' t' make Second 'en I was the youngest one in 'r group." More friendly boasting. "'n a'right. I'll prolly still be 'ere f'r a few days..." Neelkan trails off and sends that narrow-eyed glare around the room looking specifically for Aes Sedai to send it at. He wants them to listen, and if they don't, he'll just glare at 'em somemore! Then he looks back and her and waves, "G'luck with yer chores, 'r whatever." Espiria glances around as well, smile still on her lips as she covers her mouth to giggle just a bit. Ohboy. I hope he manages to stay out of trouble for a bit longer. Her eyes light on a few of those working, but thankfully most seem to occuppied to note his glares. She chuckles and nods, "Light keep you safe, Neelkan." She smiles brightly once more, turning to head for the exit. "'n Light keep ya.. uh.. safe t'!" Neelkan yells out as she leaves, then settles back to be bored again. Boooooring.
