Questions? Ask Dylan

First of all I would like to say that no one likes rules. I dont, but in order for the Role-play to run smoothly then there has to be a set of guidelines. If you break on of the rules you will receive a warning. If you are a repeat offender then you will receive a two-week suspension from the group and posting and we will find someone to temporarily take over your part. If you post while on a two-week suspension then you will be removed from the group. If you repeat a rule break a third time then you will be deleted and banned from the group.

1. Be aware that this group allows NC-17 material in posts, as long as it is stated in the header of the post CLEARLY. If there is NC-17 related material between two characters, a joint post between those characters is expected to help keep confusion and number on posts to a minimal.

2. If anyone ever takes over someone elses character without their permission then they will immediately be removed and banned from the role-play. The owner or a moderator must approve all character substitutions.

3. All people who play major characters in either show must post at least twice a week. Minor characters must post at least once a week. You will receive a warning via e-mail if you break this rule and 5 days after that e-mail you will be removed from the group. Tell the owner or moderators if you are going on vacations or you will be removed.

4. If you would like your character to be romantically involved with another character, you must notify the person who plays the character you are interested in. Then before you can introduce this new angle to the role-play you must take it up and discuss it with the owner and they will approve or disapprove of it.

5. All original characters must be approved before you start role-playing them. Make sure you fill out the Original Character Profile Sheet correctly before submitting it. Also, you will be notified via e-mail if you were selected or denied the part of someone in the Role-play.

6. Any member of the group may incorporate more than one character into their post unless someone else is playing the character. Members may also temp characters whose players are absent from the group.

7. All IC posts MUST be 100 words or longer. Failure to meet this rule will first result in a warning, then a day suspension from the group, then a week suspension from the group. If this rule is broken a fourth time, you will be forced to leave the group and your character will be written out.

Guild Lines for Good Role-Paying

1. All titles to post must have three things. The title of the post. EX. Welcome to Sunnydale. Next it must have the characters name in double parenthesis. EX. ((Buffy)). The third thing that they must have is whos attention you want, or who the post is directed towards. EX. Attn: Angel. So all posts should look something like this: Welcome to Sunnydale ((Buffy)) Attn: Angel. If your posts have NC-17 or R rated material, headers should look like this:

Welcome to Sunnydale ((Buffy)) Attn: Angel (NC-17 or R)

2. All posts should be in paragraph form. All one line posts or posts that do not seem fit for the role-play will be deleted. Posts should be descriptive and not too wordy. They should also be two or more paragraphs at 4-5 lines long.

3. All fighting between two characters should be done in T1 style. If you do not know how to T1 I suggest that you dont pick any fights with anyone. If you would like to learn how to T1, e-mail the owner and they will schedule a time to teach you the basics. Any other fighting styles are not permitted.

4. All posts must be in third person. Posts that are in first or second person will be deleted and the person will be asked to change their posts to third person. This guild line will be enforced because it really messes everyone up when posts are in all different points of view.

5. If you are posting out of character then it should be identified by a header such as: OOC: (Title of Post)

6. Post paragraphs may contain any kind of readable color, graphics and signatures that you have created. Feel free to use color and graphics to express the mood of your post so that everyone can get a better mental picture.

Audition Tips

Now that you have read through the Rules and Guide Lines you are ready you audition! The first and most important thing is that you put DtVS AUDITION: Characters Name as the subject or your e-mail or I might delete your e-mail. Here are some tips and things that I look for in auditions.

* Auditions should be lengthy -- at least two paragraphs. Description is very good, but wordiness is not. You can write up an introduction to your character describing their appearance, apparel, weapons and abilities. Or you can submit an action post. Be very careful with these.

* Fights are a big part of this role-play. Showing that you have an understanding of T1 fighting combat is a VERY good thing. However, fights should be taken with extreme caution and if you choose to write out a fight then please be very careful.

* Make sure that you are playing the character you are auditioning for. Do not post as someone you are not auditioning for or I will delete the e-mail. Also, please make sure that your audition is in third person.

* Finally make sure that your spelling and grammar is checked. If you dont know the difference between there and their or too and two it doesnt look so good. Typos are understood to an extent, just run that spell checker over your audition and it will look much better!

These and the following pages were created by Katt V. for BuffyAnnieSummers. All characters are copywrited by their respective players/owners. This is a play-by-email RPG. We do not make money for this, it's just for our own fun. Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel were created and are owned/copywrited to Joss Wendon.
