Player: Available ![]() Personality: Gabriel is a roiling, if not deep and complex pool of emotions. Being a vampire he is constantly at war with himself, having to fight back his darker thoughts and urges as he tries to do the right thing . . . as he tries to be good. One moment he can be easy going, even charming while a moment later he has the mentality of a hardened, ruthless warrior. Gabe, at times, can be very cold and calculating, as such he's willing to do things others wouldn't in order to accomplish his goals. While others would take him for nothing more than an ignorant, hot headed thug, he is, in reality, quite an intelligent and witty individual. Gabriel is loyal, brave, and selfless, willing to put himself . . . his very existence on the line for a friend or innocent if the need ever arose. Born of a violence and evil there is a great deal of darkness, hate, and rage deep inside him that threatens to roar to the surface at a moments notice. A vampire seeking redemption and acceptance he often finds himself alone on a path that seemingly doesn't have an end and is beset on all sides by enemies. Weapons: Swords, Axes, Knives(Throwing), Stakes, Hand-to-Hand Abilities: Vampiric Strength, Vampiric Speed, Vampiric Senses, Rapid Regeneration, Expert hand-to-hand combatant, Tracking History: English Countryside, 1742. Life was simple, Gabriel, then known as Samuel St. Croye, had been born to a simple farmer and his wife, the youngest of three children. Life was simple and repetitive, help out around the farm, cleaning animals, sewing seed, harvesting the fall crop before the first winter frost, and the like. Gabe was content in his place in life as he family always had a strong horse in the stable, a fire in the hearth, and food on the table. He cherished the odd and rare trip into the small nearby town for supplies and/or the selling of crop for only a few coins, but then it was more than enough. However, in the middle of his seventeenth summer all that simplicity, all the happiness, all the regularity and comfortable repetition that had been built up over the years came crashing down in one single night of pure, living hell. A gang of vampires that had been cutting a swath through the country itself happened upon his family's little cottage while everyone slept. The sleeping humans didn't stand a chance as he vampires suddenly burst into their home, shattering the silence and life that all of them had worked so hard to secure. One by one the members of Gabriel's family where slain, their blood drained from their broken and bleeding bodies . . . all except for Gabe, who, despite fighting back, was easily put own by the dark creatures. No, death surely would have been a blessing compared to what they did to him . . . After deciding to wait out the next day in the cottage each of the vampires took a turn beating and torturing the young man. After each turn, the vampire would drain a bit of Gabriel's blood. By the end of the day the once strong, handsome young man was nothing more than a broken down shell of himself. Even after the vampires beat, tortured and fed off the young man they taunted him with the dead bodies of his loved ones. Then, instead of showing the broken, half dead man even the slightest bit of mercy by finally taking his life one of them decided to turn Gabe, taking him to the very edge of life then forcing him to ingest it's tainted blood. He awoke days later alone, hurt, and covered in blood, the very vision of a nightmare. The bodies of his family lay strewn about the house, bloated, rotting, and pale. While having received no formal education of any kind, Gabriel wasn't exactly stupid and naive. His father had always told them stories of evil creatures that lurked under the veil of darkness, vampires, werewolves, demons and the like. It was apparent to him by the changes that had over taken his young body that he was now something more than human . . . he had become a vampire . . . they had made him a vampire. Gabe was horrified by the revelation that he now was forced to live off the very blood of life, that he would be forced to kill a human in order to slake his burning hunger. Though, after catching and feeding off a rat in the cottage he discovered the blood of animals could satisfy the thirst that now burned deep within . Now longer able to remain in the death filled house Gabriel resolved to leave and said a final goodbye to his family. After setting fire to his home the fledgling vampire fled into the darkest recesses of a nearby wood. There he fed off any animal he happened across, more often than not catching and subduing the creatures with nothing but his bare hands. Gabriel wasn't sure how much time had passed while he hid in the wood, moving from cave to cave, dark spot to dark spot and living off anything he could catch. One night, the lonely, scared vampire dared head into the nearby town . . . after a night of creeping about in the shadows and feeding off alley rats Gabe had managed to procure for himself a few essential supplies . Not tempting fate anymore he fled back into his woods, once more retreating to the protective darkness of the caves. Alone with his thoughts the young vampire seethed and raged at those that had turned him, damned him for all eternity. They hadn't only taken his family, they had taken his innocence, her life, . . . his very soul . . . and he hated them for it . . . he hated them ALL. Gabriel continued to live in those woods for years, feeding off animals and completely cut off from everyone else, alone save for his angered thoughts and fiery emotions. He lived in the wood for years, satisfying his thirst for blood by draining any animal that he managed to catch. Deep in his person hate and loathing churned, fueling his existence and driving him forward with each passing night. Every once in a while, aided by his newly acquired abilities, the vampire would venture into town under the cover of night and take whatever he needed, be it clothing or supplies. He stole books and forced himself to learn to read them as he wanted to learn anything and everything he could in an attempt to pass time as it slowly crept by. In his time of isolation Gabriel read hundreds of books, everything from classic novels too detailed journals of scientific theory and no matter what it was he'd read it cover to cover, taking in every word and bit of information, even if he didn't understand it. The fledgling vampire taught himself mathematics, science, and geography among other things as all he had was time. After a few years though, that time became too much to bear; the loneliness, the bottled up feelings of unbridled anger and rage, everything just became to unbearable and he finally made a decision . . . he'd seek others out that were like himself. Not the monsters that had made him and killed his family, no they were evil in it's purest form. Gabriel wanted to find those that respected and revered the life and soul of a person as a sacred thing, he needed to find those that fought the gathering darkness . . . he needed to find those that fought against the monsters. As far as he was concerned he'd seen and been through hell, faced but a few of it's soldiers and, though soulless and damned, he still was able to fight . . . not wanting another being to suffer the same fate as he. After one final night time raid on the small town Gabriel set out alone in search of others with nothing more than hope and anger to drive him onward . . . After decades of travel the young vampire had yet to find others like him, instead he had found, literally, hundreds of the like that had slain his family and stole his life. As it went, whenever he got the chance he'd destroy those of evil, one didn't spend years traveling all the lands and not learn how to fight and kill. Gabriel wasn't surprised with how easily and quickly he was capable of dealing out death, whenever he fought he was fueled by a reservoir of supernatural strength and pure, seething anger. So it continued like that, he moved from town to town, city to city, killing evil where ever and when ever he could. Though it was only a matter of time until fate and destiny brought the lone vampire to the shores of the new country . . . to America . . . Instead of creating just another murderous vampire, Gabriel's sire created something beyond his wildest dreams . . . a dark warrior, capable of moving freely about the supernatural and destroying the evil he found there with impunity. Gabriel, once a scared, untested creature of darkness is now a 'cleansing flame,' a lone warrior that fights evil on it's own terms, one who isn't afraid to cross certain lines of morality to get things done. Gabe walks the thin gray line that separates light and darkness . . . good and evil . . . And now, on the trail of an elusive and notorious vampire, Gabriel is now heading for Boston . . . where, unknowingly, he will finally find those he has been seeking . . . those like him . . . those that fight the gathering darkness . . .
